We arrived late during lunchtime, but despite this a table was prepared for us. Lunch was served buffet style and delicious. Good honest food, and ricepudding for dessert was delicious. Hostess is a warm and lovely lady.

With approaching forecast for bad weather we’re delighted to be able to hold family gathering here ( any excuse is good ) as usual greeting exceptional and food cooked over wood fire was lovely. Great evening, will be back. πŸ‘πŸ˜‡πŸ·

You'll see that I do not give poor reviews very frequently, but on this occasion, must do so. We went to this restaurant for lunch, having had it recommended and also, having visited in the evening a couple of years ago. We arrived at 1pm,...having booked in advance, but several items in the buffet had "finished" and could not be replenished. How disappointing, as lunch in a French Restaurant is normally such a treat. The main course was OK and plenty of it, but the desserts were also in short supply. I think this is the first time in about 25 years when we have not enjoyed our lunch in France. This was compounded as our daughter and son-in-law were paying as a bit of a treat for we elderlies. The service was friendly and so were the clientele so no complaints there. €12 per person, on this occasion, did not represent good value. Maybe this was a "one off", as many people have enjoyed lunch here, but we will not visit again as other restaurants in the area are far more reliable with the availability of food.More

Joined family for lunch on recent visit ( also popped in again on my own) As always great friendly greeting by Props and good to see Harry. Excellent choice from buffet bar, something to please everyone, plus house rouge. Was delighted to see how busy...the Auberge has become, just rewards for effort in spite of Harry not enjoying best of health. This is a really good everyday eatery at a sensible price. Always a joy to visit.More

Lunch here is great value and lovely food. We enjoyed the plat du jour which was 3 courses, all self service which meant we could eat at our own pace. There was a good choice with each course so the only problem was deciding what...to put on your plate. If you are in the area and require a good lunch call in here.More

Can thoroughly recommend the steak cooked over the open fire - cooked to perfection and as is the French way a good vet would have had mine up and running. Desserts to die for. Service friendly and informal whilst remain efficient.

First evening meal, usual great welcome from Prop. And good to see restaurant being well supported, although 4 fellow Brits. Rather loud after visiting Victors bar..on their way to Le Mans weekend. Amusing to discover they thought I was a local and one in particular...didn't realise I understood all of his inebriated banter.. As always meat cooked to perfection on the open wood fire, lovely meal and wine good. Look forward to returning when ever am able to be nearby.More

Went to the restaurant with 3 friends to celebrate a birthday - lovely friendly service with great food. Owners are very hospitable and could not do enough for Brits with pidgeon French. Waitress made our friends night by singing Happy Birthday and brining out a...birthday sparkler. No booking made but very welcome.Highly Recommended.More
