I go regularly and have never been disappointed. Very pleasant atmosphere. Small European menu. Food always well cooked.Service occasionally a little slow but only if very busy. The host is always considerate. Good selection of Scotch. Excellent puddings. Easy parking. Quaint village.

Marc took very good care of us for our first dinner in Scotland. The food was expertly prepared and served. Everything, the salmon appetizer, chicken pie and bass were absolutely delicious. Could not have been better and fun to chat with Marc during the meal. Small intimate place. Don't miss stopping in if you are in the area. Loved the... More

Lovely little place, great food, local produce, cooked well. Small menu but excellent choice and not a chip in sight! Mark the owner is lovely and made us feel very welcome. Good choice of soft drinks and the Merlot was gorgeous. Very small so make sure you book.

Great to meet you and glad you enjoyed your evening supper with us. South West Scotland really has some wonderful food produce to offer - the Belted Galloway steaks really are pretty special. We'd love to have you back if you're ever in the area again - just give us a call. Cheers, M&M, The Hightae Inn. More

Who'd have thought that such an exceptional little restaurant could be found in such a tiny little village. If the owner had told me that Gordon Ramsey or Nigella Lawson was paying a special visit and was working away in the kitchen, I would have believed him as the food was absolutely amazing (in fact, it was the wife of... Many thanks for eating with us on Saturday evening - we're sorry your order took so long. Unfortunately there was an initial technical hold-up in the kitchen - we should have kept you posted. A number of tables subsequently arrived at once and this coupled with the joy of the ladies loo temporarily being placed out of service lead to... More

Had a wonderful dinner. Menu is very small but everything is cooked to order and choices were good. Everything was very tasty indeed, served in a relaxed way, nothing was rushed. Service also excellent - very attentive but discreet at the same time. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. We didn't stay over.
