Heard from friends was a nice pub with good real ale and unspoilt by developers and pub chains who are clueless about proper pubs . My friends were right . Very friendly and classic surroundings with dining kept separate from drinkers

Checked the pubs website to confirm it was open. 'CLOSED Mondays' it says. Journeyed out there last night (Tuesday) at 8pm only to find it closed. Hence the middling review. Please update the website.More

Hi. We are very sorry for your wasted journey. What a shame you didn't call to book a table. Having worked through the whole of a very busy summer, we did take an extra day off. Once again, our apologies, and the website is correct....More

A party of seven plus a baby enjoyed a celebratory Sunday lunch here recently. The food is freshly prepared to order and the presentation is of a high standard. I would have expected to pay more for this quality of food in a good restaurant....More

Description
The Crown Inn Pub and Restaurant - our aim is to accommodate both drinkers and diners alike, within a comfortable contemporary setting (we have tried to mix the old with the new, to create a warm, cosy ambience)We have been here for 6 years, and Phil does all of the cooking, so our main objective is to provide consistently good home-cooked food (which obviously takes time to prepare and cook to your liking) from an extensive menu, using only quality produce. We would like to think that our service is of a similar standard to the food, and that you should feel welcome and 'looked after' at all times.
