Our arrival on spec looking for something to eat was friendly and welcoming, we took the menus (we are vegetarian) heavily geared towards meat, we ordered a side dish of homemade bread and olives, and beetroot salad, the olives fine, bread was more like a scone we ordered extra bread (before we had tasted) this did not arrive until my wife... Was recommended to eat at this establishment by the chefs mother. The pub is quaint wirh beamed ceilings and a rustic charm. Service was good and friendly with smiles. Food us very well presented and tasty I think the best way to describe the food is familiar products served in a different way. I recommend this pub to any one... More

Had a really lovely relaxing lunch, a delicious traditional Sunday roast on a busy Father's Day. Despite an email enquiry late on the evening before, the kind owners found room for us and made us so very welcome. Oh and the strawberries and cream were awesome.

For a start I must just comment how accommodating the owners were, emailing me late at night to confirm a last minute booking request for the following day, and a busy day at that. The building is beautiful, full of character and nooks and crannies. The service was lovely, with a fantastic complimentary helping of home made brioche style roll.... More

Stopped off here for lunch to break up a long drive and I was very impressed with the location and scenery to start off. But the pub, the food and the service were all excellent, I highly recommend it.

A lovely looking pub in a picturesque village. Friendly service throughout the evening. Food was very good from sundried tomato bread to begin with to sticky toffee pudding to finish. We had four different mains and everyone was happy.

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful, thatched chocolate box pub and stepped in the door & up to the bar we we're exclaiming how lovely it all was. Lovely meet and greet, swift service of drinks, menus and table. I opted for 2 starters and my husband went for he homemade steak pie with handout chips, which were... More

In a gorgeous setting in a lovely village. The welcome was very warm and polite, though we turned up too late for lunch on Sunday. Still we were rewarded by the specially brewed Leicester 5000/1 summer ale. That was definitely worthwhile!

We would like to thank all at the Blue Ball for a great evening to celebrate our sons 18th birthday on Friday May 6th. The personal touches made it even more special with balloons on our table and a warm welcome as we were greeted. Outstanding food, and I especially enjoyed the hand cut chips that accompanied the amazing pie,... More
