I visited this pub for the first time in quite a few years and I was very pleased that I did This pub is so quintessentially English in it's attraction to those that have yet to visit it. the hosts are a very pleasant couple who make you feel welcome and certainly aim to please. There are huge fresh yorkie... More

Me and my girlfriend came here in September for a year anniversary meal. I had managed to trick her into thinking we were going elsewhere...I relied on her lack of direction. She was pleasantly surprised and we both ended up enjoying a lovely meal on Sunday. It was tasty and we were well catered for. The staff were polite and... More

The Blue Ball at Braunston were simply magnificent. My 40th Birthday bash was for 75 people and the team at the Blue Ball made this probably the best night ever. There support throughout the arrangements, offering ideas, suggestions, improvements was hugely helpful, but they kept in constant contact which provided me the re-assurance that everything was covered and considered. The... More

After a long week we decided to eat out, We have been to the blue ball before, and it is a very pretty country pub. The menu is varied and interesting and the Scallop starter is delicious, but would benefit from a couple more scallops (I felt three was a little mean). My main course was a roasted rump of... More

This establishment is superb! Yet again, after a lapse for a while, our visit was on a Sunday lunchtime, with all the lovely roasts on offer. We found the menu to be excitingly different and thus, I chose the scallops as a starter and the Indian salmon with chickpeas and spinach for a main course. My friend had the partridge... More

I booked dinner at The Blue Ball because we were having a family reunion. I wanted everything to be perfect ( as the organiser), and had a lot of email exchanges with Pip the owner. She reassured me I would be in good hands and we were not disappointed. The pub has a lovely country/gastro style, service was friendly and... More

Stopped through on the way home, was early evening and we ate outside. The place is charming and traditional with thatched roof and a small outdoor seating area. It was quiet and our food arrived promptly and was excellent quality well presented. The menu was interesting and had quite a few different offerings beyond your standard pub grub. I would... More

This really looked like an attractive place and the menu sounded interesting, but reality failed to live up to the appearance. Salads were uninspired (although the pigeon I ordered was cooked deliciously). I found cellophane wrapping in my salad (from the shrink-wrapped and definitely not 'roasted' beetroot? I decided not to make a fuss, just pointed it out to the... More

The atmosphere for Sunday lunch was almost enchanting. There was live soft jazz for the duration of the meal and the attentiveness of the table servers was spot on. So what was the problem? The meat! We were not sure whether it was beef or lamb but it was dry and sinewy which was a shame, particularly as we paid... More
