Husband had the steak and very much enjoyed it. I had the lasagne which was a good portion with fresh salad. The garlic bread was tasty too. All in a lovely setting! Family friendly too.

Was a little apprehensive as bar is very dark and dingy. However my the conservatory area is nicer and there are newspapers to read if waiting for others. Food was very good, decent sized portions and not too expensive, although not cheap either. We weren't rushed to leave and were greeted by friendly staff.

The worst meal I've had in a long time! Two of us had main meals off the specials board - me pork stir fry, my husband home made sausages and sauté potatoes. The stir fry had more mushrooms than pork, over cooked noodles, and tasted fatty! The sausages were salty and the gravy just gloop. I ate less than half... More

What a beautiful building and grounds. Excellent service, very good food and drinks. Reasonable prices. Doombar on tap! We had fish and chips in the rear garden. Really enjoyed our impromptu lunch and glad we stopped on our way through to chepstow races. Would thoroughly recommend. We are really picky when it comes to where we eat and often walk... More

Called in for a bite to eat after travelling down, for a short break at Symonds Yat. Had some tasty sandwiches in the lovely gardens. Fantastic building with lovely charm. Good service.

We visit this hotel for drinks and food whenever we are visiting friends in the area. It is always a warm and friendly welcome, there is a fine selection of lagers and real ales served at the bar and the food is always and consistently good. There is a very large back garden with plentiful seating which makes a visit... More

After visiting the Butterfly Zoo across the road, we had lunch here. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. The grounds are gorgeous. There was actually a wedding on whilst we were there. Had the weather been nicer we might have sat outside on either the front or back patios to enjoy the gardens more. In the drizzle we sat... More
