Been here a few times as a break during a walk up the Thames path. Great sat outside in the summer, and nice and cosy in the conservatory on a winters day. Have never been disappointed whether we've had breakfast, lunch or dinner here. Can be a bit chaotic at times; but the popularity of the place is a testament... More

The service is really friendly but the food is awful. Sounds nice in the menu but always tasteless and dry. Awful for kids too!

The Boat House is beside the river at Wallingford, providing a great place to sit and enjoy a drink, particularly in the summer months. There is a good range of beers, outdoor seating and friendly staff. Unfortunately the food is a big disappointment; soggy pies, overcooked vegetables, really no redeeming features.

Been here before a few months ago after moving into the area and to be honest the service wasn't great nor was the food, but after giving it another go this week, what a change around clearly due to the new management. This time the food was excellent and the service was great, they couldn't do enough for us. Thank... More

I had lunch in here with an elderly relative. The place has changed hands since our last visit and from the moment the new Landlord came over to our table, we experienced excellent service :-). On his recommendation we both had the Spicy Jerk Chicken burger. The burgers were extremely tasty and the ingredients were succulent and fresh-tasting. I really... More

We visited this place whilst visiting family in Benson and it was our 3rd and final time. As usual it was a 20 minute wait for a drink. when we went to our 'reserved' table it was dirty. Yet again several things we ordered they didn't have (basic items). when tackled about this the man serving us (not someone I... More

I actually feel this review should be between 'Average' and 'Very Good', but opted for 'Very Good' as the location by the river is lovely. We had lunch here just before Christmas. It is typical 'pub grub', but was hot and the portions generous. The interior is a little tired and looking round, you just feel how great this place... More

Popped in for a quick drink. Lovely friendly staff, bustling atmosphere and very clean and tidy. Standard menu, burgers etc which was a bit disappointing but reasonably priced.

Visited with my grown up daughter and son in law on a rainy new years eve. We got there when the restuarant was opening. The menu is modern 'pub grub and is none the worst for that. The staff were helpful and attentive. It began to get busier after a short while but our food arrived within a reasonable time... More

We just popped in for a drink and some nachos after a bracing walk. It's a very big bar with big TV screens and a great outside area on the banks of the river Thames. Nothing special, but fits the bill adequately. Food offer is typical pub grub.
