The location here is stunning but the food is pretty average pub grub which is served in white enamel bowls. By the end of the meal the table looked more like an Army field hospital operating theatre. We were all disappointed with what we had, burgers, chicken. Pretty bland but filling. Place however was clean and pleasant staff so all... More

Wanted somewhere different to visit so took a trip to Wallingford. Interesting little place with several antique shops and loads of eating places. Ended up at The Boat House situated on the banks of the River Thames. Helpful and friendly staff. Food was OK, but there seemed to be lots left on plates around us. Very busy (lunchtime), so I... Early evening meal with wife. A pleasant river side pub restaurant alongside the river Thames by Wallingford bridge. There is limited car parking on site, but a local car park only 3 minutes walk away (free after 5.00pm). A large variety of beers, lagers and wines available. Reasonably extensive menu, 2 level, 2 priced children's menu. Service is good when plenty... More

Staff are friendly, especially Naomi the landlady, food was great and facilities were great, matched with a stunning evening view of the river. Perfect way to finish a day away from home for work.

Very nice spot by the bridge but the fact it WA sensory on a sunny lunchtime meant I knew the food would be poor. The family were prepared for this so we had a poor reheated meal but with a nice view. I wouldn't go again.

Staff were ignorant, menu was uninspiring, food was below average and way over-priced. Two scoops of budget ice cream, some meringue crumbs and some sugary strawberry gloop is not a £6 sundae! Worse than our last visit over a year ago.

Wanted to eat outside on a lovely evening with my young grandchildren but found it to be dirty with cigarette ends everywhere and litter floating about, the plantpot ashtrays on every table smelt of stale cigarettes and inside didn't alpear much cleaner. Food was was well presented and good value for the cost.

Hired a boat from the pub and enjoyed a hour of sailing down the thames. 7 of us including children had a whale of a time. Everyone were very friendly waving to everyone as you sail past. We were given instructions from the very friendly man from the pub. Good value of money

We had a large family meal at The Boat House on Saturday lunchtime and were really impressed. The food was good pub food (with a vast menu plus specials like fish pie, lamb shank and surf 'n turf, and a fun, flexible children's menu) and the location is lovely. What really made our lunch was the friendly service from Hannah-... More

After walking to Wallingford from Shillingford bridge we wanted a drink by the river and this pub really fitted the bill. Terraced area by the river and bridge. Plenty of activity to watch on the river. Popular place. Plenty of choice to drink and great menu with a variety of food. We didn't go for food but ended up having... More
