About
Overlooking Wallingford’s market square, the Grade II listed building in St Martin's Street that was once home to the town’s prominent post office, first re-opened its doors as an Oakman Inn in 2009. In addition to bearing the same name, The Old Post Office features many of the original elements, including the Victorian counter, and the traditional red post box situated in our front courtyard.

I always leave here disappointed, the foods never up to par and the staff aren’t great. They’re all young which I think is the problem, they’re too busy talking to each other rather than serving their customers. It’s always very overpriced, would try somewhere else...More

Called for lunch and was duly seated at a table for two. My first visit but had noticed how popular this place seems to be when visiting Wallingford on other occasions. Range of seating on offer, I assume one area is for bar meals/drinks and...More

The opo is a great place to go, with a large menu. However service is generally average and the food okay. We a small push on the service and a better differing specials list, this could be great.

We just dropped in on the off chance and were immediately shown to a nice table. The staff were very attentive without being over the top and the food came out in a timely but not rushed manner. The whitebait were stunning: not the usual...More

Our family greatly enjoyed their traditional Christmas lunch on Christmas Day except for the poor bread sauce. The rest of the menu was very good. Service was great and helped make for a great family atmosphere. Thank you to all the OPO staff.

We booked on a Sunday for 6 of us. Glad we did as OPO was rammed. We all went for the roasts, other than a mushroom pasta and a Caesar salad. All very good indeed. Great waiting staff too.

I visited with two friends. The restaurant was packed but staff were still attentive. The Sunday roasts were fabulous - we had lamb, beef and a mushroom cottage pie. The two meat roasts were generous portioned, well presented and tasted wonderful. The mushroom cottage pie...More

Yes, Waitrose Car park - free after 5pm I believe (used to be 6pm). If you for lunch though, you'd be better off in the long stay down Goldsmiths Lane (turning after Waitrose if coming from traffic lights)
