Overlooking Wallingford’s market square, the Grade II listed building in St Martin's Street that was once home to the town’s prominent post office, first re-opened its doors as an Oakman Inn in 2009. In addition to bearing the same name, The Old Post Office features many of the original elements, including the Victorian counter, and the traditional red post box situated in our front courtyard.
We arrived at the post office and realised it had a crest of Edward V11 above the door which I can’t imagine many places have!
It literally is an Old Post Office.
The restaurant was busy. The service was good as was the food. Quick,...More
Called for lunch and was duly seated at a table for two. My first visit but had noticed how popular this place seems to be when visiting Wallingford on other occasions.
Range of seating on offer, I assume one area is for bar meals/drinks and...More

Many thanks for this super feedback - just what we want to achieve on the occasion of a first visit. Please hurry back.

Bought tickets for this event - it was brilliant the place wasn’t rammed so you could move around without being pushed or shoved. Bouncers on the door were very professional so no stupid antics. Just people of all age. Groups having a really fabulous New...More

Thanks for taking the time to leave this great review of our pub!
We're really proud of the menu that we've worked hard on and the delivery of it to our guests - we've added a variety of Vegan options and made a...More
The atmosphere and most of the food were fantastic. The halloumi chips were amazing, as was the lamb burger, eggs benedict, and most of the greek salad- more on that shortly. The pizzas had great flavour and top notch toppings, but the crust was disappointingly...More
Came for lunch on Sunday the place was packet, however without having a booking the manager did find us a table after a 5 minute wait in the bar.
The food was delicious and quite reasonable size, service good comparing how busy the restaurant was....More

Thank you for your amazing review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the food and that you will return for our puddings.
Looking forward welcoming you again.
Went for lunch and got a table fairly quickly. Drinks took an age to come. Disappointed with the non-alcoholic cocktail.... more ice than drink. We only had a main course but it took over 40 minutes to come. The chicken burgers were dry but the...More

Yes, Waitrose Car park - free after 5pm I believe (used to be 6pm). If you for lunch though, you'd be better off in the long stay down Goldsmiths Lane (turning after Waitrose if coming from traffic lights)
