We ordered ordered sandwiches. Mine was described as with melted mature cheddar cheese. But when it arrived it was in fact just a square of burger cheese! Not what you expect at a hotel. Plus the cakes are frozen and not great.

My wife and I have visited many times and are on the mailing list so when this year's one-night-only special taster evening (3 courses for £15 for new additions to the menu) was advertised a couple of weeks ago I booked online and received a confirmation email. However we arrived at the restaurant to find that our names were not... More

I stayed for 4 days at the beginning of October 2016. This is a medium size hotel that manages to feel small and homely. The breakfasts are great with a good choice of cooked items. Dinner is reasonably priced and the rooms are well equiped and comfy.

Stayed one night and had dinner at the hotel. The food was quite good and very reasonably priced (I hesitate to say cheap because of what one might infer from that). The wait staff was excellent and brought a complimentary ice cream dessert just because we had chatted about Devon cream. Lovely

I met some family members here for a coffee and sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. It was much quieter than I had expected, even for a Monday lunchtime. We sat in a light airy conservatory. I opted for a prawn sandwich having not read the menu properly (the menu item was for a prawn jacket potato), however, the waitress said... More

Booked 4-nights at this hotel, however, on arrival found that the carpets were worn and filthy, paintwork was chipped and old, rooms very shabby. A thoroughly poor Hotel. The staff and Manageress were most courteous, refunded all costs and found alternative accommodation.

I visited the manor with my fiancé for his birthday for the first time,on arrival we liked the decor of the hotel. The staff were friendly, the drinks a tad over priced but expected! I had reserved a table expecting to be shown to a table a grumpy oversized manageress which was sat on reception aggressively told us that she... More
