We stopped off here on the way to Dover, the motorway was closed so took A20 and went in here for some food, nice place bar etc, restaurant a little flat, staff were nice but the food is average and not very imaginative which is a shame as I guess the food is not as good as the staff.

Complacent is a good word to use for Breakfast at this Restaurant. Breakfast is taken in the bar area and on arrival we noticed plenty of tables available, but we were asked to sit at a table which had just been vacated and needed to be cleared. We presume because it was easier for the staff. Coffee and hot water... More

To be honest I don't think you can go wrong with many Beefeaters. With a fixed menu you know what you will eat and the morning breakfasts are always spot on. I've been coming to the Woolpack for many years and I will be coming here for many years to come! The staff are always so friendly!

We used to come to the Woolpack quite often. It was a favourite family venue. After the refurbishment we felt that some of the atmosphere of this attractive old building had been lost. The prices seem to have risen too, but the food is of poorer quality. The service is still very good, but that's not enough to persuade us... More

Another new menu and plenty of vouchers to make for a very good value meal :) Early dinner - meatballs and prawns to start and gammon and beef steak to follow Had an issue with the rump steak but soon rectified and a delicious plate of food. We enjoyed a bottle of house red - soft and smooth and a... More

We recently booked the Woolpack for a family meal on what turned out to be a very busy friday night. At one point lots of people were queuing up at the door. We watched as some just walked out as they were kept waiting for too long. It looked to us that the staff levels seemed far too low to... More

Visited 2 May, for lunch, the service and food were very good, except for the portion size which is far too large. We would have liked a pudding, but were too full after the shared starter, flatbread for two, but was enough for four, and the main, which again was far too large. Such a shame as it spoiled the meal,... More

Although we had to ask for the early bird menu - before 6 p.m. - the meals were very reasonably priced and well presented and cooked. Rosie, who had the patience of a saint, looked after us well. Plenty of tables, but lots of children too. Good parking - next to Premier Inn, but a little off the motorway.
