The service and the food was superb. I had trout with almonds and although the potatoes were over-cooked the fish and the sauce were really good.

Despite living in Buxton and eating out regularly this was my first visit to Le Brasserie. I was part of a party of 11 ladies, all indecisive about their mains and whether to have starters.. We were too busy talking to pay attention really. There were a few minor hiccups with the wrong food being brought out but we were... More

We were so happy with the atmosphere and the excellent menu but let down by the skate which was very over cooked, and not really edible. None of the three members of staff to whom we complained offered anything more than a blasé "sorry". We paid in full :(

We had a drink in the evening at The Brasserie in comfortable ambient surroundings and decided to have lunch there the following day. The place soon got busy with all tables (perhaps a little too close together) occupied. I chose a robust peasant dish of pickled cabbage, potatoes, belly pork and sausage. It was excellent and very filling! I had... More

What a great find! Six of us ate here on a busy night during the festival, and could not have had better food and service - although it was slightly disappointing that there were no mussels or confit available as my daughter had her heart set on the former and my wife on the latter. We received a friendly welcome... More

A different, lighter menu than the usual offerings. We enjoyed a delicious dinner - boeuf bourgignon and filet of sole Bonne Femme accompanied by a bottle of good Bordeaux.

A slightly quirky French restaurant, with good food and very pleasant staff. Dined here on the last night of our stay. Not sure what to expect, the staff were very friendly and chatty, and who we thought was the chef/ owner came out and chatted. The food was very good, I had the confit duck, delicious, and my wife had... More

We had been staying in Buxton for a week, we ate here on last night of the holiday . The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was nicely presented and we all enjoyed what we had but we felt it was overpriced the bill was 60pounds for 4 mains 2 had wine others had fizzy water.

This is a lively but quaint place to eat and drink. The food is wonderful and they have a wide range of lagers and beers worldwide. If you want a good meal and great atmosphere visit here.

We love this restaurant. The food is always fresh and plentiful and just like Grandmere used to make. Whether you want french food - the confit duck is fab, or a massive burger with blue cheese and frites or a tasty salad - this is the place to come. There is a separate bar just for drinks...best avoided when lecturers... More
