Richard Booth's Bookshop is the largest second hand bookshop in the world (apparently). Tucked away in the very far right hand corner of this large emporium is a really fabulous restaurant which is perfect for lunch (they are closed in the evenings). Great healthy food, good sized portions and good service - what more could you want. Worth making the... More

Buried in the bookshop, is an enticing cafe. Well worth stopping in for lunch or a snack. Prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly. Nice selection of food on offer. Would recommend looking in if in the neighbourhood.

We spent hours browsing the many bookcases overloaded with books galore! What a great find! Then took lunch in the café and although we had to wait a while for a table to become available, it was worth the wait as the menu was very imaginative and food well cooked. (One negative is that there is only one toilet and... More

An Aladans Cave. Books and books old and new spread over a number of floors. It's like stepping back in time. Full of atmosphere. Buy your books and take them to their in house cafe where you will be delighted with the delicious food on offer. Freshly prepared and quick service. If you are looking for somewhere to eat for... This has to be one of my favourite places in England, I think I spent 3 hours in here once, I spent so much in here then the cafe was a great way to relax after walking around all day.

New and old books well organised and hundreds of them. Comfy sofas to sit on. A customer toilet and a cafe which sold yummy food what lose do... More

We were kept waiting forty minutes when there were 7 empty tables in the restaurant. Our party of 4 consisted of a 91 year old and two 85 year olds. We offered to sit in the upstairs area which was told it was closed. The food seems to have lost its innovative charm, not a good day for the kitchen.... More

We'd spend half our lives and all our income in them. Full of cosy corners and seats and sofas to browse in. Knowledgeable staff. A joy.

Restaurant downstairs at Bookshop and good light accommodation.. Service good and inventive list of Dishes. Note previous toilets at Cinema now sealed off and only one unisex toilet immediately available. However, downstairs in the Bargain Basement male ,female and disabled toilets available which are good and have not got a queue outside
