A lovely friendly welcome. Great cup of tea. Very reasonable pricing. Definitely visit again if in the area. Percentage of profits to Royal British Legion.

Been coming here on and off for over 30 years, it closed for a month and reopened this week - as a very average cramped Cafe. Such a shame.

We were visiting friends who recommended this friendly coaching inn just round the corner from the town centre. It was good value with a warm welcome. We stayed and ate on the Friday evening- I chose the huge burger and chunky fries and my partner ordered the fish & chips which was delivered from their fish & chip shop down... More

They offer a massive choice of food for vegetarians and are more than happy to cook t fresh for you. The oil they use has no animal fat.

Always love going here. Food is always fresh and the staff are super. We have had a selection of food from their menu and only have one complaint, that we can't eat there all the time. The cone of chips is super value for money and the chips are delicious. Real Home made chips. Food is plentiful and premises is... More

I only had chips, but they were very tasty - apparently cooked in beef dripping (probably not good if you're a vegetarian though!) The chap serving us was very friendly too. There's a basic room with tables and chairs attached to the chip shop if you want to keep out of the cold aswell

We purchased a couple of portions of chips, they were cooked and seasoned as expected, service was reasonable. All in all, we went to the chip shop and got what we wanted, nothing of note, but at least it was edible.

Serving British classics such as Fish & Chips to eat in or take away. Sit in our cafe with a view of the Cenotaph and Beaufort Square while you enjoy one of our favourites washed down with a cup of tea. We fry in rapeseed oil which is a tasty and healthy option. Our batter is light and freshly made with beer from our pumps at The Coach & Horses just round the corner in Welsh Street.
