Good pub food particularly mains. Starter expensive for what you got. Kids happy and they had gluten free.

Re-visited The Taverners, today. Met up with some friends for a drink & bar snacks at lunchtime. A good choice of hard and soft drinks, teas and coffee's etc. Although we were given an extremely warm welcome, my dog got a better reception from the staff including a couple of doggie treats! A great location for both food & drinks,... More

Visited here after being recommended on here and I have to admit it was very good. The staff work very hard and the food was delicious. It is a typical pub set up where you order your food at the bar which is fine by me. I also accidentally left my bracelet behind and they called me the next day... More

Went here after it was recommended and so glad we did. Food was excellent and good portion sizes. Really impressed that they listed the distances of where they had got their food from it was really nice to see it was really local. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Big thumbs up but if you're thinking of going BOOK we got... More

The menu is varied and the specials board includes a good variety of local Isle of Wight produce. Unlike some "gastro-pubs" the Taverners served decent portions of attractively presented proper food, not the three peas and two carrots of some pretentious nouvelle cuisine establishments. The food is good, the service friendly but non-intrusive, the surroundings pleasant and prices sensible.

Great venue to meet friends for a weekend meal. Large well equipped roomy pub with good varied menu. Great service and delicious well presented and tasty food. Dogs welcome which is a bonus. Wise to book on a Sunday.

Really good food. Best white bait we have had and macaroni with cheese was special. The rest of the food was great as well.

After searching for hours with my in laws for something to suite everyone we stumbled on this place. I had duck & a cute pot of tea & they had what they described as the best fish & chips they have ever had. It was dog friendly so we went back twice during our stay and each time was perfect....
