Visiting family in Huddersfield, we decided to have breakfast at Northern Tea Rooms which turned out to be a mistake!! I ordered soy flat white coffee only to be advised they don’t “do” soy !! I didn’t bother having a drink but ordered egg on...toast which was seriously plain and boring. The youngest member of our family had sponge cake which was so dry that it remained un eaten and another member who is a coeliac ordered gluten free cheese on toast having checked out the menu before arrival but on ordering was told that there was a mustard ingredient that made the meal glutinous. This cafe needs to get with the program and offer more options. We left and found a cafe which provided me with the fix I needed especially first thing in the morningMore

Very popular due to a fantastic breakfast/brunch menu, that is family friendly, and good for a leisurely bite. Always go for the Eggs Hollandaise derivatives, but imaginative salads and sandwiches too. Varied teas collection too.

We (me and my two children and my friend and her three children) stopped here for lunch and it was fantastic. The staff were so welcoming and were fantastic with the children, joking with them and offering to get my friend's son a new sandwich...when a wasp took a liking to one of them! The food was all really tasty (highly recommend the Nourish bowl) and reasonably priced and there was a great range of teas and other drinks. We will definitely be back.More

came here at the weekend, the menu looked great and it was busy with a good atmosphere so we were really excited. Whilst it was busy, the whole menu seemed pretty basic and we waited an hour for some egg and avocado on toast which...was really disappointing. Then we sat for ages with plates on the table whilst two young, brunette servers just stood chatting behind the bar area. We did want coffee and some cake but left and got these elsewhere.More

Took my grandma here for Afternoon Tea. We all loved it, amazing selection of cakes and sandwiches. The best bit were the blueberry scones with clotted cream and jam. Coffees and teas made to a high standard. Friendly staff who went to great lengths to...make our experience excellent. Will definitely visit again.More

Great service, amazing food and drink that looks like a piece of art. Mellow music in the background. Place is busy but soothing at the same time. Great to visit with friends, family or with a book on your own. Highly recommended.

Delicious afternoon tea - the brownie, cheesecake & mini cheese & tomato tart in particular were yummy and the blueberry scones were so tasty. Not only was the food worth going back for (best afternoon tea I’ve had in a long time) but the staff...made the visit one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I am CEV and still very vulnerable to Covid and still wear a mask. The staff respected this and wore masks themselves whenever they came close to us. They managed to seat us distanced from other customers and really respected our desire for social distancing. The staff were kind, friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel safe, comfortable and happy. Cannot recommend this tea house enough: beautiful food, beautiful staff - thank you!More

I’m afraid we only allow guide dogs inside but customers often sit outside with their dogs to eat and drink and we do provide a dog bowl for water.

I’m Afraid we only reserve tables for Afternoon tea from 2:30, otherwise it is a first come first served basis I’m Afraid. If you are coming for Lunch arrive just before 12 to have more chance of a seat. Thankyou
