I'm being generous with this rating and I am surprised by the generally positive views on the site. During our visit, service was very slow, food mediocre and staff rude. Will not be returning.

Made a return visit having been impressed the first time. Food still excellent but very disappointed that Tetley's was the only beer available. Will still return though.

I popped in here with a friend on the off chance for something to eat and we were glad we did. The food was really well prepared, tasty and the service was great. The staff were helpful and it was really well priced.

It's great for children because of the garden. I imagine they will be open all year round but check their website for times.

The Smugglers Inn offers a cosy bar, a delightful restaurant and accommodation by the sea at Blue Anchor Bay in Somerset. We are on the edge of Exmoor and the Quantock hills and make a perfect base for walking holidays. The West Somerset steam railway runs through Blue Anchor and the station is just along the road at the end of the bay. Blue Anchor beach is a long sandy beach and is just across the road from the Inn.
