Called here for dinner on a Sunday evening. Welcoming staff. Three of us had the homemade Steak and Ale pie served with mash which was excellent. Our fourth diner had the fish and chips which was also excellent and a large portion. A good selection of real ales also on tap. It was a shame the pub was not very... More

Lovely surroundings, friendly welcome and service, great food. We had pie and veg. Sounds mundane, was anything but. Pie can't be described, has to be tasted. Puddings of similar standard. Very happy, well fed family. (Mum, Dad and kids 6 & 4). Only downside is that I ate too much and regretted it later, but that's my lookout. :-)

Stopped here for 1 nt and had the Sunday carvery, followed by another meal later that evening, both meals were superb and the children were made to feel very welcome by all.

After a 13.5 mile walk along the costal path, we stumbled across this place, and wandered in for a well deserved drink. The man behind the bar was so friendly and welcoming. There was a carvery which looked beautiful and the dining room was full. We chose to sit in the garden area. It really is a lovely little place... More

We have visited the smugglers several times, and we have never had a bad meal. Their steak and ale pie was the best I have ever tasted. They also serve local real ales. Add to this the cosy atmosphere, and you have all the ingredients of a good night out.
