Started our day here with a late breakfast before a long bike ride, was lovely. Also had a gluten free option which was perfect for my partner. Only complaint is that the delicious coffee could have been in a larger cup, just being greedy!

After an attempt to visit about 6 months ago when the vegetarian and gluten free menus had been eradicated it was great news to see that they were back. We had toasties, cheese and tomato and bacon, brie and cranberry both were simple but delicious. The proper tea was fantastic and the feel of the cafe is cosy. We will... More

Freshly cooked breakfast using quality ingredients. Fresh tea leaves in pots a nice touch. The service was both welcoming and relaxed.

This venue is right on the canal and makes use of the wonderful old Stone Building owned by the K&A Canal Trust I believe. The setting is just ideal for coffee, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. It's not part of a chain and the staff are very welcoming and helpful and the food is good too.

Lovely spot by the river. Great selection of teas. Dedicated vegan/vegetarian menu; including vegan cheese rather than simply the same dishes with less as many others do. Friendly staff and swift service. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

The situation, right next to the Canal is perfect for eating both outside (in fine weather) and limited space inside. Having already read some of the complimentary reviews about the food being served, perhaps my expectations were too high, in reality my Toasted Sandwich on white bread was almost too difficult to cut and eat, I thought that the bread... What a tranquil place to have afternoon tea! Sitting along side the canal watching the swan and mallards and of course canal boats as they pass by, it is a perfect place to enjoy a good culpa and tasty sandwiches (filling of your own choosing), cakes and scones. We will definitely return for more as we live locally.

My friends and I had a light meal and cream tea here. The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. They use locally sourced ingredients and do their own baking. Some locals having tea inside said it was the best place for tea in town. There is a terrace outside by the canal.

Two ploughmans platters?? One slice of wholemeal bread , 2 very small pieces of cheese, a bit of lettuce drizzled in balsamic vinegar, ONE cherry tomato cut in half, 2 pickled onions, one slice of ham and chutney. I think the ploughman would have gone hungry!! The smallest portions I have ever seen and NOT reflected in the price! The... More

Been here several times. Today was quiet - usually it gets very busy. Lots of people sat outside overlooking the canal, as it was a sunny day. Sat inside downstairs. It's a small room but has lots of charm. Expect bric a brac style decor, bags of character, nostalgic furniture. Good wheelchair access downstairs, but it would be difficult for... More
