One word PERFECT All the family love it here. The ice creams are to die for. Nowhere else compares. I recommend this place to all our Glampers when they ask where to go in Scarborough. Mandy West Hale Gate Glamping.

Great service combined with a wonderful selection of ice creams products and other snacks make this one of Scarborough's top attractions. Unchanged since the 1940s it is worth visiting just for the style alone, not to mention the top quality award winning ice cream. They do fantastic and delicious sundaes. Do visit the toilets, they are an amazing combination of... More

Bit expensive, but lovely ice cream, you worry you won't finish it but then you hear metal on glass and realise you are a greedy pig. I recommend anything chocolatey!

First visit. Saw it on Great Railway Journeys. Amazing ice cream. Had a snack lunch which was tasty and well presented. Followed by their Eton Mess. Not cheap but it was our holiday treat. I would return for more!

This was the first time we visited and it's definitely the best ice cream I've had in this country. Absolutely delicious.

Came here for an ice cream 4 times last September even had it for breakfast, but that was probably because I was pregnant at the time! Visited back here this month, wasn't as nice as I remembered but that might of been down to me and not the ice cream.

Thank Amy C

Thank you for your review. We have never sold Latte's. We don't advertise Latte's. Lattes are espresso type coffee with hot milk. If you look around you won't find an espresso machine. We have only ever sold Nescafe with hot milk since 1960, that's 55 years and if as you comment,"we always come here for the first treat of the day", you should know that. Coffee with hot milk, if left for a short time, developes a skin. This confirms that it is made with fresh milk and is easily removed and I would imagine that if you make one a home, the same will happen. At £1-75, you would be hard pressed to find a latte at that price.I am not an expert on bread making, just it seems, on ice cream making and milk shakes. But on the basis , as you describe it, of a severely over proved bread bun you have PUBLICALLY condemed all the food we offer. Toasted sandwiches with home made coleslaw and salad, steak and sausage sandwiched all condemed.Doesn't seem to be a fair balanced review does it? But it is interesting to note that you critisize the price of £5-65 for a bacon and egg sandwich. Well I agree with you, that's why we ONLY CHARGE £4-50. so if you can't get the price right, how can anyone trust your review? In that price of £4-50 we have to pay 75p to the mafia in VAT. So at a NET cost to us £3-75, sitting at a counter, watching the cabaret of ice cream dishes made, and then perhaps a visit to our fantastically clean toilet, free, before you leave, what more can you expect? And don't forget, you can always speak to out Manager or our Supervisors, in the white uniforms, if your not happy. Giulian Alonzi v.g.i.c.m.m.
