Been here many times but feel this place is now moving away from been the quaint tea room it once was, I will say the food was as nice as always but first I had to ask for a menu, then I had to ask for sugar, then I wanted salt and pepper so took it off another table, also... More

After going to Scalby to visit family staying there we were treated to lunch at this lovely spot. We decided to go there after hearing positive reviews from other tourists visiting the area, and weren't disappointed! Lovely food, very friendly helpful staff, and all situated in a lovely spot. Although the tea rooms is situated next to a main road... More

Had 2 Afternoon Teas which consisted of Sandwiches served with salad, coleslaw and crisps, scone with jam and fresh cream, cup cake and tea, £9.50 All of which were excellent, OK the scone was not served with clotted cream, but we're not in Devon/Cornwall, and it was still very good. Lovely tea rooms, will definitely visit again when in the... More

We popped in for a cup of tea, but then we looked at the menu. We saw an afternoon tea for £8.50pp For that you get a round of sandwiches with homemade coleslaw, a small fresh salad and some crisps, a butterfly bun, scone with cream and jam, and a pot of tea. My wife had a ham sandwich in... More

Had a horrible meal here and when I complained to staff was treated rudely and off handedly, was told there's nothing wrong with their food and it was personal taste, however even if that was the case I didn't deserve the ill treatment from staff.

My friend and I had 2 Afternoon Teas as a lunchtime treat on Friday & they were delicious & excellent value. For £8.50 you receive a round of sandwiches with a side salad, coleslaw & crisps, a scone with jam & cream and a Daisy Fairy Cake. You have the opportunity to upgrade your sandwich to a toastie for an... More

They started packing up the annex room at 2:45, loudly moving chairs and tables whilst we were eating. The cakes were not fresh and afternoon tea was quite dissapointing with tinned salmon on cheap supermarket bread. The waitress was quite pushy about our time being up and came to the table offering to put the cake we had not eaten... More

I feel rather strongly about your comments and feel I must respond. We do not use cheap bread - our white is Warburtons Farmhouse and our brown is Hovis Seed Sensation - neither of them cheap I can assure you. We do find most people take their cupcake home and I am sure the member of staff thought she was... More

Called for lunch. Have eaten there several times in the past but not recently. Prompt efficient service, lovely fresh food, partner said the ham was amongst the nicest he'd ever tasted. Cakes looked lovely but we were too full to try them. Menu hasn't really changed, I'm vegetarian and something other than cheese based meals would be appreciated. I will... More

Thank you for taking the time to publish your thoughts and comments. I take your comments on board with regards vegetarian options. We do try to keep the daily quiche and the homemade soup as an option for vegetarians but will consider next time we change our menu. Thank you. More
