I never, ever have the Sunday roast beef when I go out to the pub for lunch. The beef is over cooked, cheap and everything just looks processed. Well I highly recommend the Sunday roast, especially the beef at Bryherstones. The beef, Yorkshire pud, vegetables and gravy were excellent. Washed down with a pint of Timothy Taylor's landlord it couldn't... More

Was recommended this pub by the B&B we were staying in. Arrived to really friendly service, it's definitely not a pub where the locals stare at strangers! Immediately made to feel welcome. Good menu and specials boards, we went straight for mains and weren't disappointed. An amazing steak cooked to perfection and some beautifully fresh fish. Great chips and salad.... More

I have been bringing my mother out to lunch here for a while and i thought its about time I gave it the praise it deserves. Although busy in summer, today's October Saturday lunchtime visit saw the Bryerstones in tranquil mood. We were met with a very warm reception from the barman and the landlord, who accommodated myself and elderly... More

Like most people who are away, we tend to look on trip advisor for an idea where to stay or eat. And thankfully we did as this pub is well worth the visit. First class food and super atmosphere and willing staff what more do you wish for but would advise booking as they can get very busy.

A warm welcome from the landlord set us up for a great visit. Service was fab, perhaps a little too quick! Sunday lunch was yummy. Can't wait to go again!

Have eaten here twice now and the welcome is always friendly and the food always fresh. The first time I ate here I opted for the soup of the day, followed by fish and chips which were both homemade and very good. The second time was even better. I had a special from the board, chicken in a creamy Stilton... More

The Bryherstones Inn provided us with super soup; the sweet potato and mushroom was a great starter with warmed corn bread, followed by salmon and a succulent sirloin (for me) . The service was average compared to other Inns within the county. £2.50 for diane sauce was the most costly for this holiday break.

We ate here three times during our weeks holiday. Two evening meals and one Sunday lunch. We always eat here when in the area. A really good traditional pub serving great food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Look forward to our return in November.

Having enjoyed a very good Sunday lunch in the past, we opted for Brotherstones as we had seen many claims about meat & it's supply. The Sirloin steak at £21.95 was very disappointing and difficult to eat with only the "eye" being edible. I hoped it would improve while struggling through it and had to leave a good portion as...
