I and my lovely mum returned here again this year, after having such a great visit last year, and i have to say we both were certainly not disappointed. The service is incredible and the people that own this fantastic Tea Rooms, should give themselves a...More

Popped in from the Scarborough Spa today to the Francis Tea Rooms, which is conveniently just behind the venue and tucked away in a little side street that's like something out of the last century. Was expecting an average meal but instead, for the money...More

I wanted to introduce a Korean friend to a first class experience of English cream tea, so we went to the Francis tea rooms with a couple of other friends living in Scarborough who recommended it highly. We were not disappointed. The chai tea was...More

Located on a side street in a small building that was a hair salon in the 1940s, this tiny place is still divided into small wood paneled areas that provided privacy for patrons. If you are claustrophobic, that might turn you off, but I was...More

Visited tearooms last Friday after reading all about them I just had to go, yes they took a bit of finding and weren't what I expected from the street, but "don't judge a book by its cover" is definitely true in this case, its fantastic...More

I have to admit, when we arrived outside Francis i had to question if we had found the right place. It sits, quietly, on a rather scruffy little side street, and offers up very little of the "magic" that you find the moment you walk...More

Take a step back in time. . . Francis Tea Rooms is set in an original 1930's hairdressing salon, complete with wood-pannelled booths. It has an unique atmosphere with hand embroidered tablecloths and Art Deco vases. We serve Taylors coffee and a variety of their loose teas in vintage china. A varied menu of brunch, light lunches and afternoon teas is available as well as a large selection of homemade cakes, tray bakes and scones. Our specialities are Homemade Soups, Welsh Rarebits, Quiches and Traditional Afternoon Teas. Our own recipe scones, lemon meringue pie and fresh fruit almond cakes earned us a place in The Guardians Top Ten Budget Eats - Yorkshire Coast 2010.
