We had a table of six to celebrate our daughters 12th Birthday. Sarah decorated our booth with banners and balloons and even wrote a birthday message on the chalk board outside. The afternoon tea was wonderfully delicious and the service was amazing. We have had many afternoon teas at many different places but tea at Francis was by far the... More

We came upon this by accident while looking for somewhere to lunch on Saturday. There was the two of us and our 6 year old child. My self and my husband had salmon sandwiches and our son had plain cheese. All came with a side salad, home made potato salad (extra yummy) and coleslaw. The sandwiches were freshly made and... Visited Frances Tea Rooms which is just a short walk away from the Esplanade on South Cliff next to Very Very Vintage. This is a real old fashioned in a good way tea room. The staff are very friendly and they have a large selection of loose tea not tea bags that you get in some places. We just had... More

We love the Francis Tea Rooms and the fact that is just round the corner from where we live expands the waistline. However, Sarah and Brad, their collections of teas and free flowing coffees make it all worth while.

The loose leaf teas are delicious. Afternoon tea is amazing value, and the home made cakes are scrummy! Lovely vintage atmosphere and the staff are so friendly.

Description
Take a step back in time. . . Francis Tea Rooms is set in an original 1930's hairdressing salon, complete with wood-pannelled booths. It has an unique atmosphere with hand embroidered tablecloths and Art Deco vases. We serve Taylors coffee and a variety of their loose teas in vintage china. A varied menu of brunch, light lunches and afternoon teas is available as well as a large selection of homemade cakes, tray bakes and scones. Our specialities are Homemade Soups, Welsh Rarebits, Quiches and Traditional Afternoon Teas. Our own recipe scones, lemon meringue pie and fresh fruit almond cakes earned us a place in The Guardians Top Ten Budget Eats - Yorkshire Coast 2010.
