This restaurant certainly isn't cheap, but its prices are on par with similar establishments elsewhere in northern England. The food is good, the portions are OK-sized and the service is friendly. The only quibble is that the chef is very liberal with salt in vegetables and on chips. (I don't add much salt to food when I cook it or... More

We went to the Coachman Inn on a whim today and are so glad we did. My two children said their duck pate starters which were absolutely delicious (according to their father too who kept pinching some). The three of them then had the turkey crown and roast potatoes with carrots and Brussels, 10 out of 10 again. I then... More

Stopped by early evening on the way back from Whitby to find a warm and welcoming Inn on Sunday 1 November. The All Hallows Eve decorations still adorned the bar. A real fire in the fireplace and real ale at the bar with a very real welcome. We chose the chefs special which was slow roast pork belly and it... More

I was told about the coachman last year but never had a chance to visit. We have definitely been missing out! We booked a table of 6 for Sunday lunch and what a belly filler, the chef doesn't mess around! from steamed mussels, duck liver pate and a delicious baked potato and watercress soup, to the full monty of a... We ate here a few times last year and gave a glowing review. We were here in June 2015 and it wasn't as good, but everyone has an "off day". So happy to try again. This weekend the food was decidedly average I'm afraid. Perhaps the owners were on holiday as we didn't see them and the staff weren't keeping... More

We deceided to try a meal at the coachman , as we were staying in the caravan park next door, it was very nice and you got a lot of sweet , but my friend thought it rather expensive, the staff were very good and polite , there had been a wedding there in the afternoon.

We ate here for a couple of nights, whilst staying in a cottage in the next village. The menu was very good, with dishes that both my husband and I liked. I had the duck breast on the first night that was pink and cooked to perfection. (You did get a choice if you don't like it this way) The... More

Second time we've eaten here while staying in Snainton and the food is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit. Roast beef is gorgeous.
