We found Pyne's which is part of the Bedford Hotel one of the best places to eat out in Sidmouth. This is based on a a two-week stay and we tried a lot of places. Sea view, gentile atmosphere, good wines (some by the glass) and innovative menu. Booking is advised. Recommended for sure.

I love to cook, so I am a bit of a fuss pot..But wow, this chef is good. Inivitive menu, I had Turbot with Fennel pollen, if that sounds ponsy it wasn't. I love that he just uses one, herb/spice/vegetable or sauce to enhance the flavour of the dish. Quality ingredients, simply cooked I would say and beautifully presented. Excellent... More

Ed in here on the spur of the moment for lunch with a friend, yesterday. Sell a pleasant place to be sure. Service was excellent, very polite staff and the food was very very good. I shall be going back soon for sure. No cheap, but if you want quality , not expensive either.

We booked a table for 9, we arrived everything was laid out and ready, service couldn't be faulted, food was excellent, all meals were huge and very well cooked. If I had to find fault, it was there was just too much food on my plate, but that's just me everyone else cleaned their plates. We had an elderly lady... More
