We came here for a birthday meal and the food was amazing! The service and decor is also great. The beef was so tender and the rum and raisin cheesecake was fantastic!

Visited the Salty Monk for a special meal with a friend. Had an amazing meal, had to photograph every dish, the presentation was so good. Service was 1st rate and matched the standard of the food. Will go back again defiantly !

Visited The Salty Monk again, this time with all the family in tow arrived very wet after coming in from a downpour, yet were greeted with a warm welcome and a smile, quickly offered drinks in hand, ready to help us dry off. We had...More

Staying at nearby Oakdown Park and looking for somewhere to eat, my wife and I came across the Salty Monk at Sidford. When away, we occasionally like to eat somewhere special where the food is a little different from our usual fare. Checking their website,...More

Four of us had lunch on a Thursday. We were the only ones dining, whilst I don't like noisy busy places, this was too quiet. Although they are catering for a different clientele they have got a lot of competition from local pubs serving good...More

We booked the restaurant based on some good reviews. The meet and greet was good as was the restaurant itself. It is a blend of a modern extension and the older original 16th century parts and worked very well. You can choose the bistro area...More

What a treat, from the delicious cakes and sandwiches to the entertaining puzzles on the tables, a great choice of teas, the interesting items of art on the walls and friendly but not overbearing staff. Quite expensive for me personally but worth it for a...More

Treats is what life is all about as we are not defined by how long we are here but by what the quality of our life is while we are here. There is something quintessentially English about a really special Tea, from the sandwiches, scones...More

We dropped into The Salty Monk recently, by appointment, of course, after our annual trip to see the bluebells at nearby Blackbury Camp, for a cream tea. You can certainly get cheaper cream teas, but one expects something special at The Salty Monk. I wouldn't...More
