We stayed in the Glen Lui for a couple of days for our anniversary - and couldn't have chosen a better setting. Set in its own garden / woodland setting over-looking the golf course. We spent our first day sipping wine in the lounge and watching red squirrels play just outside the window. The restaurant is also highly rated, and... More

We were recommended the steak here by a local and we were not disappointed. It was Aberdeenshire aged steak which was very tender and tasty, even without additional sauces. Perhaps very slightly overdone, but the meat was still very tender. However, it was not cheap, £25 for the steak, but worth it. The rest of the menu sounded nice -... More

Four of my party of five had the Aberdeenshire aged steak and all of us found the steak to be truly excellent. It was succulent, tasty and tender. Service was excellent. The restaurant has a posh interior to match the prices. The steak cost GBP 25 but it was well worth the cost. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The chef really knows what he's doing and creates delicious dishes that combine regional products and fine European cuisine. We loved it.

Supporting the local community after the floods this restaurant was lovely , the food was local and seasonal and delicious . I had venison wellington which was delicious and asparagus to start with a herby hollandaise sauce . I had never had Cranachan it didn't need the meringue nest as it was sharp and sweet . It was a bit... More

Enjoyed a memorable family meal here last night. Very relaxed atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. You will be in for a real treat at the Glen Lui. Would highly recommend the venison carpaccio as a starter. That said, everything we had last night was just perfect. With such a well thought out menu using local ingredients you really can't... Eating here is a pleasure. A relaxed, friendly atmosphere where the staff make you feel most welcome. Lovely selection of food, nicely presented and cooked to perfection. Some of us had the goat's cheese en croute for starters, absolutely delicious! The local Balmoral bread is very tasty too. Always look forward to coming here for a meal when we are... More

Invited to dinner by friends. Having been a couple of years ago, we arrived in trepidation! What a turn-around. They really have made a big effort to improve things. Everything was absolutely top notch.

In two weeks of travelling this is the first time I have been disappointed in the food I've had. The food wasn't *bad* but was extremely disappointing considering the price. It was perhaps one (slightly generous) step up from pub food at 3 times the cost. Go to another restaurant in town at least the pricing in honest for what... More

You are allocated table according to your status. Cheap rooms (£110 per night) by the toilets, kitchen or bar. The privileged view the vista. Cheek
