thought we had found the best restaurant in Carlisle with inventive menu and attentive staff but found, alas , that it had closed when we returned to Carlisle on the 4th July. Apparently being replaced with another run of the mill restaurant. wish we could find a replacement of the same standard

We popped in for couple of drinks and enjoyed sitting at the bar and being served by a nice barman preparing our cocktails. Lovely place with nice atmosphere.

My friends and myself booked in on a Saturday night for the taster session. When we arrived we were informed it wasn't on. We picked our meal and in fairness it wasn't too bad. The Sticky toffee pudding was overdone and very dry in the middle. It was only at the end of the meal that we were told it... More

Fantastic food and great setting, staff were polite and friendly only reason it got 4 star instead of 5 is there was very little choice of menu although what came out was tasty would recommend

Just returned after enjoying the mid-week taster menu with wine. The food was delicious, beautifully presented with well matched wines. Everything appeared to be of high quality. Very good value at £25 per person. There was more than enough wine in the tasters for us. Our waiter was charming and attentive without being pushy. The only criticism would be that... More

Clearly the chef had another bad day as in previous review, fish and chips were uneatable and cooked from frozen and soggy chips. So disappointed we didn't try pudding. We didn't pay for food but our day was ruined and staff very apologetic not their fault, but would not recommend.

Great hospitality and great lunchtime menu and house wine- a real find on a day visit to sunny Carlisle. Good to see the city recovering from the flooding

Small but perfectly formed restaurant. The lunch of fillet steak was perfect size and price with dessert and afternoon cocktails. We all enjoyed the experience at No.34

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for the first time last weekend. In all my years living in Carlisle I had always meant to go here but for some reason never got round to it. I really didn't know what to expect from it. I have to say it was one of the finest meals I have had... More
