Quite simply the best fish and chips I have ever had. Huge portion, all crisp and non-greasy and delicious and hot. Restaurant is small but spotlessly clean and pleasant, nice smiley friendly staff. Menu is fish and chips, plus scampi, sausages, steak pie, a few other options.....ie if you're looking for something more complicated, don't come. But if you want... More

Nice place, clean and staff lovely. Meal was hot and didn't wait to long to receive it. Found it a bit pricey to come often but we will be back again.

Tasty food great service, and all in a nice clean restaurant. I have reviews this place before( no pun intended) and will probably do so again because any visitor to Carlisle that enjoyed good old fashioned fish and chips needs to know about the fryery. Please try you will not be disappointed!

I have popped in several times in the last 4-5 years and never been disappointed. Great service - lovely young man meets you at the front door to work out where best to seat you. Excellent service from upstairs or on the level - super atmosphere from a family business - relaxed, friendly but still professional - food served fresh... More

I've eaten here a few times and I am always pleased with my meal. It isn't just fish and chips, there are other meals available. Try the fish cakes they are gorgeous. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hubby wasn't so impressed with his small cod that he thought had too much batter, but mine was bigger. Salad is... More

As the name suggests, this is the place for fish and chips, they are excellent. However; they also offer steak pie, this is accompanied by a large portion of amazing chips, and sufficient gravy to comfortably cover each individual chip. So for lunch, in Carlisle do try the Fryery, it's easily found, just down from the entrance to the lanes.... More
