The Bull and Swan is a sister hotel to the William Cecil a few yards up the hill. I wasn't able to get a room there so they out me in the B&S. It's a small traditional pub with varied room. The suites and bigger rooms are great (8&9)but I have also stayed in a small room (4). One point... More

Very good menu. Excellent food and selection of drinks. We had the burger with sweet potato fries. The puddings looked good but I was too full to try them! Next time.

My Wife and I stayed At The Bull and Swan for two nights to visit Stamford as a short break. One thing to bear in mind is that this pub is Very, very old. We were given the "Wild Horse" room. which was over the archway to the car park. on being shown the room we were told that the... More

I had never gone into the pub before so decided to try it one night for dinner with my partner. We were blown away by how delicious the food was at a relatively reasonable price.

This pub is full of ancient charm and has a lovely garden. We ordered roast beef and smoked salmon and creme fraiche sandwiches at £7.95 each. The brown bread was standard sliced, not as fresh as expected, and the beef was overdone and quite dry. The sweet potato chips were good and the salad fresh but the latter minimal in... More

Looked a lovely pub hotel from outside in a lovely setting that is Stamford. The room itself was ok but quite damp and musky and got very warm as the temperature outside rose. Ventilation was a problem and although the log burner in the room was a nice touch probably during winter months it left the room with a burnt... More

I recently visited this lovey pub for dinner with a friend, as we had heard it was good. Well it wasn't, far from it . Service was almost non existent the " I don't give a dam was the best way to describe it. When the food eventually came I had to wonder if they really had chefs working their.... More

LOVE this quirky pub. Staff are excellent – friendly, welcoming and attentive. Food is cooked to perfection, using quality ingredients, and there is good selection of reasonably priced meals. Dog friendly, cosy and with a cool vibe, recommend it on every level.

We have eaten here a few times and for the best part have had good food. It's a beautiful place with friendly staff. Quick service. Dog friendly and recently been redecorated. Previously the salmon and tempura squid is great. The only let down was our burgers. A bun that was dry and a little hard and the BS had the... More

If you are looking for a coaching inn with character and a great atmosphere in Stamford then this is the venue for you. With ample accommodation and a sensible menu, along with special offers on food during the week.

Description
The Bull & Swan has oodles of history which we hope we complement with fantastic food & drink. A plethora of great, well conditioned local ales, a diverse but unstuffy wine list and a dedicated, professional and yet relaxed team all add to what we hope will be a perfect visit to the pub! Using local suppliers is at the heart of the pub's ethos - it might be cockles from the Wash, cheese from Cote Hill or simply great fresh vegetables, venison, beef or game from the Burghley Estate. The team combines all these ingredients to create an original and sumptuous menu, with dishes to suit every palate.
