Visited Saturday 23rd July, never again. The place was empty inside for food at tea time which should have rung alarm bells as used to be packed! Waited 20 mins for a drink whilst the one and only bar staff served customers without who approached the main bar after those waiting at the bar for guests seated outside. No awareness... More

My husband and I rang to book a table for Sunday evening at the last moment - the alarm bells should have rung that we were easily able to book as usually you would have been lucky to get in. Apart from one really nice member of waiting staff that we recognised from over the years it was all new... More

Visited this pub as it overall had good reviews. I had the burger and my partner had the prawn cocktail. Both were of good quality and we enjoyed our meals. The other people we were with also had the burger and enjoyed it. However despite this the waiting time was very long. For 3 burgers and a prawn cocktail we... More

Visited the British Oak today for lunch. Great selection of beers to start with which always goes down well with myself! I ordered nachos to start, which were unusual but large with pulled pork. My partner enjoyed a large garlic ciabatta starter. Then there was quite a wait for mains, which for us and only a couple of others in... More

Went here for a meal out. I had not been here for a few years but last time I went it was really nice! I ordered lasagna and it was really nice! The garlic bread was a little dry but the meal was still nice. The building could do with a little update like a paint job and maybe update... More

This pub has been recently taken over by new owners. We have visited in the past and enjoyed the food however on our visit last night it was dreadful. The service was extremely slow even though the place wasn't full. They got our order wrong and although they offered to change it we weren't prepared to wait another hour. The... More

Enjoyed a pleasant meal the staff are polite and Friendly and don't try rushing you like some places . I heard one couple complain about the food but it's a public house restaurant not a 5 star gourmet restaurant and I think they were just trying to get a discount on the meal to be honest . so overhaul a... I had a 'deconstructed pie' that was basically looked like microwaved food splattered across a plate. The goats cheese on tomato starter seemed to be goats cheese in tomato soup. It's like they're trying to be trendy but really failing. I couldn't eat mine. Over priced for what you got.
