We had our firms Christmas dinner in January here, as everywhere was booked up before Christmas. Called with family for a two for one evening and the 7 of us (5 adults and two children) had a lovely three course meal from the extensive range of food on offer.

We dropped in early afternoon, the place was Very busy. Although there was no room in the restaurant we were happy to eat in the bar. This is a really lovely pub with a very nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. A very varied menu & we both had pork escalope followed by a chocolate fondant and a sponge pudding.... More

We were welcomed as usual by the friendly staff, and shown to our table. Ordered drinks and then we were left to look at the menu, we were busy talking, but not rushed into making a choice. My friend and myself both had the fish pie, it was delicious!!! I had visited last week one lunchtime, so I couldn't resist... More

This restaurant is close to the National Mining Museum and as such we stopped off for lunch after our visit. I could not fault the homely feel created by the bar staff and the traditional pub food. The specials of the day were sausage and mash and chicken pie. I opted for the sausage special and my wife picked from... More

Lunch 17/4/17 Bank Holiday. Food arrived on time. Carpaccio of beef was wonderful, portion about half what I would consider a pub starter portion, conversely, one of our diner's risotto starter was huge and didn't finish it. Burger was requested pink, told that was not possible, arrived grey and overcooked, but tasty, the addition of pulled pork on it worked... More

Visited this restaurant for my friends birthday and the owner was very friendly and welcoming. She couldn't do more for us. Lovely food at a good price and speed. Only downside for myself was that there was only one vegetarian option. (It was delicious) it would just be nice to have more options

Last time I visited the Kaye arms the service was very poor but this time the young and enthusiastic staff were excellent. Food was great and a step above 'pub grub'. Wines were not exceptional but there was something for everyone and some good selections. Back to its usual high standard - highly recommended.
