Lunch time on Tuesday was great due to the friends that we met here and the wonderful service that we received throughout the 3 courses. Food quality was excellent and the staff were so good. Recommend to anybody..

Me and my partner ate for my birthday and thought the service was pleasant but the food was not very hot and very bland. We still had a nice evening as the setting is nice and the restaurant and service is nice and peaceful. If you are into very high standard cuisine and judge restaurants on flavour and the skill... It's a very long time since I've been to a French restaurant - I seem to recollect having been scared off years ago by the horrors of Nouvelle Cuisine.....so much money for so little food! Having unexpectedly stumbled across Mariners floating restaurant moored on the Ipswich waterfront, a glance at the menu convinced me that I / we should give... More

We went to celebrate a friends birthday and as usual Dennis and his staff were very accommodating. The food was excellent and the ambience was perfect. The location is so beautiful and I would highly recommend a window table on the riverside, as the lights during the winter months makes great viewing. FG/MH

Visiting Ipswich for the first time and was invited to dinner with friends. The food was amazing and the ambiance brilliant, even though the weather outside was terrible. The staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble and service was very good. Recommend this place.

We were here for a birthday meal. There were about 20 people in the group. We had the top floor to ourselves. It was rather warm with the caller gas fire on but very cosy. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere to it. To start with the service was a bit slow trying to work out what everybody was... More

I booked for this evening ( the odd "English" need to celebrate by tasting wine that is far too young to be worth drinking) but did so because of the Mariner's reputation. The food and service was excellent and couldn't be faulted. I particularly enjoyed the cheese board and my wife the fish Verrine. Our friend ordered the wild boar... More

The food here has always been fantastic. The boat can look a little tired at times but hey its an old boat and that's some of its charm! The food quality, choice, and price cannot be faulted. The staff have always been polite and helpful. We love this restaurant.

I walk past Mariners often, occasionally stopping to look at the menu posted next to the entrance - it never really appeals to me. How wrong could I be? I took the plunge and booked a table. The experience was superb. The service was spot-on, the drinks list was varied - with some great wines. The full menu was brilliant,... More

Within easy walking distance of the town centre, Ipswich's most original restaurant, II Punto, is an antique Dutch customs gunboat, moored along Neptune Quay. You can relax in its wonderful atmosphere and its polished brass ambience.
