We were shopping in Ipswich and wanted some lunch and went into the Cock and Pye. We had a beer and ordered a sandwich and a wrap. After buying another drink we were still waiting for the food (15-20 mins). We enquired about the food and were told it would be soon. When we asked what was soon 5,10 or... More

Have been here a few times and never been disappointed! Good value good, excellent choice of dishes. Love the chorizo and chicken pasta and the lunchtime deals, really good value! The drinks are really good value too and great if you are paying for a family! Children are welcome too. It's nice and spacious in there and clean and too.... More

Ipswich is full of history and the Cock & Pye is part of it. It has one very long bar and apart of the flat screens up for the local sports, you really could imagine the boys having a pint or two two to three hundred years ago! Chicken and mushroom pie splendid and large serving. The modern sausage, pasta... More

Popped in for a beer. First bar person just ignored me. Wasn't busy at the bar. Second bar person asked what I wanted. Foster's please. Poured my drink, took my money. Never said a word. Gave me my change. I said thank you. She never said a word again. Then she went straight over to play with her phone. Done... More

I visit the pub occasionally when in Ipswich town centre for a casual drink and find it better than average with friendly staff and good service. The atmosphere is usually good and pleasent. I cannot comment on the food as I have never eaten there though.

Feeling hungry went into this pub ,not planned, very friendly staff, ordered and served quickly ,food ok, nothing special but was hot . Ordered gammon eggs, but eggs were swimming with oil, then dumped on top off gammon,I had to wipe excess grease of with tissue. Overall liked pub and service and would go back .

I ordered Hunters chicken which turned out to be disappointing. The chips, coleslaw and salad were all lovely but the chicken was solid and was very difficult to cut and ruined the whole meal. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was good.

Popped in here while I was out shopping. Not keen on the sports bar atmosphere. Too American. The burger was good though.
