Another great local find, warm welcome and very good food. Both starters and mains were hot and tasty & very reasonably priced. We sat in the restaurant with a lovely view of the surrounding countryside. We will definitely go back and try the evening menu.

This is a pub that serves food all day and is very welcoming. The menu is always changing and they have a specials board, the best thing on the menu are the home made meat pies, they are very good and you get a large portion. The prices are not over the top.

Always a great visit every time we visit the Fox and Hounds. I order their burger which is very good compared to other local burgers. The staff is very friendly and courteous. A pub with space for a sit down meal both lunch and dinner. Definitely worth visiting for food if you are a traveller or just passing by. And... More

A lovely little pub, part of a chain but the service and food are really nice and prices are reasonable. There is a nice area outside as well which is used for dinning but you also get the smokers congregating outside as well which is the down side.

Today we had a basket meal as we only popped in whilst passing and only wanted something light. Basket meals are good quality - decent chunky homemade chips, decent "proper" pork sausages, chunky chicken goujons and decent sized scampi were all to be found. Yum :-D btw. If you've kids in the 5 to 9 year old group, one basket... More

We visited here as a family and all enjoyed an evening meal. There was a good selection of pub favourites and some delicious specials all at reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and the pub is a good old fashioned country pub. I cannot rate the food highly enough: it was all delicious and we will be returning.

We love this pub. No frills but good hearty pub grub, low key friendly service. Full of locals in the bar and restaurant. Car park (full of pot holes) could do with a bit of TLC but otherwise great.

We have just had a very good lunch visit .... a last minute decision, as we drove back from Lavenham. We enjoyed two hot lunches ... delicious food and more than enough - couldn't squeeze in a dessert. There's only thing we'd suggest - hot plates. The landlord/barman was very pleasant and welcoming. We entered at the restaurant end of... More

This is a lovely little pub slightly out of the way, but nevertheless, worth discovering. The food was excellent, plenty of it, served in the good, old fashioned way, not piled up to look like an oil painting. The staff were friendly and helpful, there was a nice restful atmosphere in quite nice surroundings. Some indications had been made as... More

Good food, service and value! Would definitely come back again. Me and my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed our meals of sirloin steak and gammon steak and it was a good way to spend a Friday afternoon! Very underrated (not many people were in there when we were) and should be more popular!

Description
It is a pub in half and a restaurant in the other half. I believe it is the place where Chicken in a Basket was first served in England! It is close to Boxford and near Edwardstone
