Me and my fiancé regularly frequent this pub for the food. I've always enjoyed the fresh and tasty dishes. No matter how many signs and adverts you see around Ipswich proclaiming to have the best burger in town there can only be one undisputed yet modest winner and it's here. The burger just melts in your mouth. If you want... More

Went to this pub on 7th August 2016. From outside looks as if it needs TLC Quite the opposite once inside. Wonderful atmosphere and cheery smiley staff. The food excellent as are the portions. I wanted to try everything on the menu. A good excuse to visit again. It is on the old Tolly Cobbold brewery sight which is going... More

Having enjoyed fish and chips here a few months ago, thought I'd have the same again. What a mistake! The "fish", when it was served, looked like an old dark shoe, which turned out to be a leathery shell of very dark batter, which is called "batter" because, in this case, you had to batter it down to access the... I visited The Brewery Tap for an evening meal with friends in July. We had booked a table and were sat together round a large table. The pub itself is a lovely older building with a rugged look with wooden floors. It has a lovely calm atmosphere. Our order were taken by a very pleasant member of staff. No one... More

We caught the end of the sunday rush so had to wait a short time for our order to be taken whilst the kitchen regrouped which was not a problem. Ordered two main courses, the belly pork and a burger. If I really really wanted to pick then the pork could have had a crispier top and the homemade tomato... More

A small but very atmospheric bar where the service is friendly and the food is great in both quality and quantity!

We went here for a meal on a Saturday night. We were very impressed with the food, the menu was quite small but very varied and the quality of the meals was excellent. Portion sizes were good but not massive. This was good as it meant we had room for pudding, and the sticky toffee pudding was worth having! Highly... More

This place is a little off the beaten track next to the old docks. It has its own brewery. The place itself is quite big inside with nice seating. There is a small lunchtime menu. I chose the chicken parfait which was very nice. Washed down with a couple of pints of Calvors premium lager. The grounds are nice with... More

Description
This is a lovely Gastro Pub, the new owners took over in October 2009 and have fantastic plans. They only serve locally brewed Bitter and Lager plus a great wine list. Mike is a fantastic chef and the staff are always friendly, smiling and helpful. Lots of space for private parties or meetings. Daily fresh menu with local produce.
