Let me say from the off that this is a nice restaurant that cooks tasty food. But, it could just be so much better. We were met by a surly young waitress who showed us to the "last remaining table" in an empty downstairs restaurant. There we waited to be offered a drink...eventually she reappeared and took our order. The... More

The basement was cosy and nice atmosphere, however the waiter was in a rush and aggressive in his manner. Our meal was beautifully cooked fish but the vegetables were disgusting! The chips were white, didn't look like they'd seen any heat, the broccoli and carrots limp and barely warm. Hiding under the two bits of broccoli and carrot were some... More

We had visited this bistro last year so booked again for this latest visit. The food was as good as always and the set menu is a great idea. Love it.

I've waited a couple of days before reviewing this restaurant because I wanted to be fair and reasonable with my comments. Firstly, this restaurant has great reviews and judging by how busy it was, it is obviously popular. So maybe the problem I have with it has been brought about by setting my expectation levels way too high? Before getting... More

We were lucky enough to walk in without a reservation & be seated downstairs. Amazing menu & food was out of this world. So impressed we almost visited two nights on the run Friendly chef visited every diner to ensure happy customers.

Found this lovely little restaurant on trip advisor and booked a table for that evening. Loved how warm and welcoming both the atmosphere and the staff were. Service was just right, not too invasive but attentive and accommodating. The food was out of this world! The crayfish and chorizo risotto was so tasty and the seafood spaghetti main was just... Had an early eve meal when on hols. Restaurant small and cosy and nicely decorated. Both had haddock chowder to start with warm bread - lovely and creamy and lots of fish. I had monkfish and veg - plain but fresh. Hubbie had duck which was good and chips - disappointed that these were not home made and seemed to... More

Excellent three course meal. All fresh produce (Fish being delivered by the fishermen directly whilst we were settling in) all prepared and served superbly, by friendly attentive staff, in a relaxed intimate environment. Booking is recommended as the restaurant is very popular. Both my wife and I were very happy with all aspects of oujr visit.

The food and service was very good. We did think it was a little expensive, and would not return as there are more great restaurants in the locality.

Food tasted fantastic, albeit quite pricey. Restaurant is a little cramped for my liking. I felt as if I was sat with the family on the next table, so not very private. I would most definitely return for an occasion, but could not afford to be eating there on a regular basis.
