Visited yesterday, 23 Sep 16. We were prepared and willing to spend a significant amount of money in this pub. However, having bought drinks and sat at an empty table, a staff member came along 10 mins later and plonked a reserved sign on it and said, "It's not till 7." How rude and ignorant! No "Are you planning on... More

We just popped in for a drink and sat at the bar... we were served by a young lady who was very polite and bubbly. We didn't eat as ee had a meal up the road and was walking past on our way back to our B&B . But... the meals looked huge with homemade thick chunky chips and very... More

We visited on a Saturday afternoon and got a table straight away. We ordered and didn't have too long to wait for our meals. My husband had gammon which he said was ok but a bit overcooked. I had lasagne which was really good. Unfortunately it was way too big a portion for me. We went back on the Sunday... More

Was looking for fresh food not fast food, should have realised how popular this place is when we entered and saw how many tables were reserved at 4.45. Bar staff found us a table that was reserved for 7.45 and said we were welcome to eat there. The menu was extensive and home cooked so we expected a delay, not... More

Lovely staff, really accommodating, good range in food options for all (kids, meat eaters and veggie!). Can fault it and it not too heavy on the wallet either if you get a chance to dine here you'd be silly not to.

We recently had dinner at the Albert after reading other great reviews. It was definitely consistent with other reviews. As with most pubs in the UK you order drinks and food at the bar after selecting a table. The atmosphere was great. The food options were much more than your average pub and our choices of fish cakes and seafood... More

We ate here after being recommended it. We booked a table & arrived to find it had been reserved but not cleaned & re set. It had obviously been a very busy day but they did seem to be short staffed with the few on duty rushing around. There was a delay in both drinks & food service. The food... More

As a family we have been here on many occasions. Sometimes for a quick drink or even a Sunday roast. The service is always swift the staff very friendly and chatty. Would highly recommend for families couples or anyone who's after great service and great food at reasonable prices.
