We have eating at the Cricketers for many years and it used to be one of our favourites. It's range and serving of real ales is legendary. However recently we ate at the Cricketers and were very disappointed. We both ordered sausages and chips. Why it's chips with everything I don't know. Anyway our meals turned up in double quick... If you're in the area of Charleston Farmhouse or Berwick Church, this pub offers a good place for a meal. Be patient with the service. Enjoy the lovely outdoor tables.

After a 4 mile walk on the Downs we stopped at the Cricketers for an early evening meal. The deluxe seafood platter for 2 on the specials board caught our eye. (£25) It consisted of warm garlic prawns, extra large dresses crab, smoked salmon, crayfish tails served with granery bread and salad. Quality and quantity of the food was excellent.... More

We went there as a family group for dinner and have had drinks there before. We had a delicious local traditional meal and the place is very charming with low ceilings, small rooms and a wonderful garden outside. I really feel this is British countryside at it's best. The service is very personal and friendly. Highly recommendable when you are... More

Dog friendly, cottage garden, tasty menu and good beers. Parking can be a bit of a pain but who cares when the welcome is warm, garden beautiful and dog biscuits are behind the bar. Oh by the way Berwick Church, with Bloomsbury Group murals is a short hop and skip away.

Thank you for taking time to review our pub, we are sorry that you find parking a pain but being situated down a country lane does have its drawbacks but also has lots of positives re views, picturesque garden etc More

It's been a few years since we've been here. I was probably put off by someone doing a hit and run on my car in their car park a few years ago. Of course that wasn't the fault of the pub or the management. And at least one of the decent customers witnessed it. So, being in the area, we... More

Thank you for your review of our pub and we are sorry that your salad was a bit wet, if you had either taken it up to the bar or called over a waitress we would have happily replaced the meal for you as we pride ourselves on the quality of our food. We hope to see you again More

First impressions of this pub on a busy day are great. It looks like everyone's view of what a pub should look like on a sunny day, with people enjoying the sun in the very pretty front garden. The food is well described on the menu with good information about the steaks and other items. I personally think the menu... More

We are pleased that you were happy with service at our pub, normally customers who don't like dressings on their salads, meals etc ask at the bar when ordering and we make a point of telling the kitchen to either not put any dressing on the food or to pour it into a jug so the customer can chose the... Used to love coming to this pub as the garden and setting are beautiful. Sadly they have stopped offering lighter options for lunch in the summer. Can now only get a main meal but we enjoyed having something like a baguette or toasted sandwich. What a shame that the menu has been reduced as the food is tasty.

Thank you for your review of the pub which is slightly misleading as we do offer lighter options of starters and also platters etc that can be shared by two people. Also if you had asked at the bar we also can do 'children's portions' in some of the dishes which prove popular with adults who don't have such a... More

My husband and I came here today for lunch. It was very busy with most tables reserved, but we found a large table which we shared with 3 ladies, after asking them if they minded if we sat on the end. We chose the seafood platter and I ordered a side order of chips. A large crab, smoked salmon, crayfish... More
