Went with a friend, both chose seafood linguine and it was really yummy with a generous portion, didn't scimp on the scallops :-) unfortunately the base to my cheesecake was so hard I couldn't break it with my spoon but the actual cheesecake tasted good. will definitely go there again for good pub grub.

We went here for our anniversary in Oct 16. My wife had been set on having steak, but when we saw the seafood platter to share, she changed her mind. I was so glad she did. It was fantastic ! One of the best meals I have ever eaten. A wonderful selection of fish beautifully presented. Also visited last summer... More

First time at this pub and at first sight it is a lovely country pub, however the food was disappointing. The confit duck was very overcooked- rock solid almost. The crushes potatoes tasted reheated. The dumpling in the venison was also very hard a knife wouldn't cut through it. There was no staff around to complain to and had taken... More

A beautiful pub with a lovely atmosphere. We visited for a family get together on Thursday lunchtime. There is a good menu at reasonable prices . Our food was delicious and plenty of it . The staff were all very polite and helpful. Such a pretty place look forward to visiting again soon .

This was our second visit to The Cricketers this month and I'm sorry to say that it appears to have changed. On the first visit we were served with cold filet steaks on cold plates. These were immediately sent back. The food reappeared after a short while with new chips and slightly warmer steaks but still on cold plates so... More

A good meal - could have been served a little quicker but they were very busy. Would be good if they offered a gluten free dessert. Lovely atmosphere and food was tasty - particularly the roast with delicious red cabbage. People eating in the lovely garden at this time of the year too!

Many thanks for your comments on our roast dinner, we normally have a gluten free dessert so we will look into this and make sure it doesn't happen again. More

Great food, including the vegetables (not over-cooked & so just how I like them) but it would have been better if they had been served on a hot plate to keep them hot - having been there before I think this was just an unfortunate one-off. Staff & service fine.

I am sorry to rate at the lowest this otherwise decent looking place set in quiet countryside a few miles from Charleston Farmhouse, but the service was unjustifiably sourly and poor. The disappointment included a long wait (30 minutes) and when I informed that we had an appointment to keep it was another full 30 minutes before our meals arrived.Their... More

Quiet and comfortable pub. Good atmosphere and excellent beer. Harvey's on tap. Easy parking for walkers on south downs way. The pub also serves food.

We didn't eat here but enjoyed a Sunday lunchtime drink. The ale was very good and the Pimms was generous. The service was friendly and the pub itself is super with outdoor seating when it's sufficiently warm to sit outside.
