Arrived for a late lunch party of 6 no problem. My spilled drink was even replaced free of charge, warm enough to sit outside, food was great and didn’t take long. Staff served it with a smile and we even earned 2 x £10 vouchers to spend with at future visits, which we will certainly use Thank you Peter and... More

Visited for pub walk to Allison and south downs. There is ample parking at the pub and a lovely garden. Well kept ales are on offer and although we didn't eat there on the day the range of food offered was good and reasonable value. Definitely want to go so visit again.

This is a recent find for us. Have now visited twice, although we haven't had a meal there yet. Both times we have been there, it's been a gorgeous sunny Sunday afternoon so the pretty garden has been very busy, but there has been seating available inside or in the overspill area out the back. Staff are very pleasant and... More

Lovely location with plenty of sunny outdoor seating. My only concern is that this seems to have turned into a restaurant that serves drinks rather than a pub! Booking essential if you want to eat here at weekends. Obviously very popular with locals.

The Cricketers is a very pleasant country pub with a lovely garden - perfect for a summer's day, and with log fires in the winter. There's a standard menu which is fairly constant, and then a "specials" blackboard which changes every day. We had tiger prawn toast (with salad) and a beetroot mash (with salad) for starters, followed by salmon... More

Lovely location and Harveys beer from the keg. Three choices and all well kept. We had Deluxe seafood platter to share. Pretty dull and insipid. We sat in the garden and watched seven sets of people try and get into the pub. There are two doors and neither are signed. The one people naturally walk to is bolted and the... More

This is a lovely pub with an indoor bar and restaurant, but what makes it special when the weather permits is the outdoor eating area with picnic tables surrounded by flowers in a lovely cottage garden. The menu is very good and varied, with dishes to suit all appetites and pockets. We just wanted a light lunch, so one of... More

We chanced upon this pub, returning from an overnight stay in Eastbourne. The setting is so pretty with plenty of tables and chairs arranged amid a lovely cottage garden in front of an old creeper clad building. We were only planning to have a drink but it was a beautiful sunny day and we saw the food coming out and... More

Recently visited the crickets after a family day in the local area. The pub itself is stunning old stone building with beautifully well kept gardens. It is also set on the back drop of the South Downs national park providing great views and possible walks. We ordered main dishes including the burger and chicken & bacon salad. There was no... Eaten here for lunch on two occasions now and both times had the Seafood Platter for two off the specials board ! Large dressed crab, six very large king prawns in garlic butter, smoked salmon and crayfish tails with a small salad and two very large chunks of granary bread with butter !! All washed down with a bottle of... More

Our seafood platter has been one of our best sellers this summer and so we are delighted you have ordered it on both occasions, if we can still purchase the dressed crabs it will be on the menu until the end of September. More
