This was our second visit to The Cricketers this month and I'm sorry to say that it appears to have changed. On the first visit we were served with cold filet steaks on cold plates. These were immediately sent back. The food reappeared after a short while with new chips and slightly warmer steaks but still on cold plates so... More

A good meal - could have been served a little quicker but they were very busy. Would be good if they offered a gluten free dessert. Lovely atmosphere and food was tasty - particularly the roast with delicious red cabbage. People eating in the lovely garden at this time of the year too!

Many thanks for your comments on our roast dinner, we normally have a gluten free dessert so we will look into this and make sure it doesn't happen again. More

Great food, including the vegetables (not over-cooked & so just how I like them) but it would have been better if they had been served on a hot plate to keep them hot - having been there before I think this was just an unfortunate one-off. Staff & service fine.

I am sorry to rate at the lowest this otherwise decent looking place set in quiet countryside a few miles from Charleston Farmhouse, but the service was unjustifiably sourly and poor. The disappointment included a long wait (30 minutes) and when I informed that we had an appointment to keep it was another full 30 minutes before our meals arrived.Their... More

Quiet and comfortable pub. Good atmosphere and excellent beer. Harvey's on tap. Easy parking for walkers on south downs way. The pub also serves food.

We didn't eat here but enjoyed a Sunday lunchtime drink. The ale was very good and the Pimms was generous. The service was friendly and the pub itself is super with outdoor seating when it's sufficiently warm to sit outside.

We stopped here for a bite to eat at lunchtime having been for a long walk. Good menu choice and we had the hummous and a side salad which was perfect. There is a good selection of ales to drink too and staff were very friendly.

This popular and well established pub has had a well deserved reputation for good, sound cooking. Recently, however, things have drifted somewhat and gone downhill. Portions remain large but underseasoned; chips and eggs arrive on the tepid side and so do other dishes suggesting they have sat on the pass too long. The menu is unchallenging, the service, once so... More

My husband and I went to the cricketers for lunch on Friday afternoon and what a treat it was. I had the cod with a chorizo and bean cassoulet and my husband had a cheese burger. The cod was the freshest I have tasted in a while and was absolutely delicious! My husbands cheese burger looked really yummy- he said... More
