Eaten here for lunch on two occasions now and both times had the Seafood Platter for two off the specials board ! Large dressed crab, six very large king prawns in garlic butter, smoked salmon and crayfish tails with a small salad and two very large chunks of granary bread with butter !! All washed down with a bottle of... More

We had not been to this pub before but many friends had said it was great so we booked for yesterday and could not fault the meal or the prices but not with a taxi from Polegate Station - silly price for a short journey. Roll on 720720 in Eastbourne!

Lunch at The Cricketers Arms yesterday was a not good experience. The main course of beetroot tarte tartin was awful - over cooked indeed burnt with poor salad and sharp French dressing. This is sad as have always enjoyed our meals - but we won't be returning

We were driving and decided that we both wanted something to eat; The Cricketers Arms happened to be the next sign we saw and I am so glad we took the chance to visit. The food is amazing (seriously, the mango hummus was incredible) and the portion sizes generous. The staff were lovely and polite without being "in your face".... More

Great meal - delicious and well presented. They have gluten free bread and I had the cheese burger in a gluten free roll- fab! Puddings are so tempting and tasty- had to try them! Could not have managed stater, main and pudding though! Had drink before hand in the lovely front garden in the sunshine. Have been before and will... More

Had the most delicious mango humous as a starter.... Yum Yum Followed this with cheeseburgers which looked absolutely stunning when they arrived but unfortunately the patty fell short of how it looked and we needed the salsa relish to add taste to the burger. The venue is really lovely and this might have just been an off day by the... More

Have visited this pub many times and always fails to provide reason for a bad review . The gardens are well looked after and the inside of the pub with clean and tidy. We looked at both the bar menu and the specials board which were both plentiful for all appetites. We chose the Burger and a steak which was... More

The Cricketers offers a great selection of high quality food, with a regular menu plus a few daily specials. My lunch favourites are the platters. Yesterday I shared a Farmer's Platter - thick slice of ham, cheese, sausage, homemade pate plus chutney, salad and chunky bread. Excellent. I was tempted by the cappuccino ice cream special but was too late.... More

We had an evening meal on a Saturday night, make sure you phone to book, as it was busy at 6pm! We had cycled over from Firle, and had steak and a burger, nice simple pub grub, not gastro just good food. The white Rioja was lovely and we finished it off with a waffle! All good. The garden is... We are pleased that you found the time to cycle over from Firle, we pride ourselves on being a country pub and offer home cooked fare washed down with Harveys Beer and wine. The white Rioja has been very popular as the wine of the month so we are keeping it on for the reds of August and into septmeber... More

A regular visitor to this hidden gem. Food is always 5*. Staff friendly and welcoming. Dined here again on a busy Tuesday lunch and opted for a steak which was cooked perfect served with a lovely salad and chips. Still had a little room for pud and had the key lime pie which turned up looking amazing and homemade I... More
