Great bar/resturant friendly place for eats/drinks

The Belgian Café is on the corner of the Burlington hotel on Eastbournes sea front. A pleasant atmosphere inside with a nice choice of home brewed draught Belgian beers Happy hour from 5-7pm weekdays gets you a great pint for £2.50 Sea food and other dishes also served. We first visited the Belgium Cafe over 7 years ago and were very disapointed. But because I love mussels decided to try again last Sunday. Well what a difference. Fantastic staff, excellent food at a reasonable price. So good that we booked again for lunch on Valentines day.

A cool Belgian-style bistro that, amongst other things, does moules frites in as many different flavours as you like. Mrs H had the standard marinière while I ventured for a coriander and lemon grass potful. Big and succulent, just cooked à point. And the best bit?... they brew their own beer on the premises. We had a couple of pints... More

Food was very expensive, food average and service wasn't very attentive. Good selection of beers though. Drink was pretty expensive too.

Service was great, with really friendly staff. The food was outstanding, and was really fresh - unique menu with great choice. Brilliant value for money - you paid for so much more than the food! The atmosphere was great, chilled but with a buzz - live music made it even better.

Reliable fayre. Good service. Mussels and beers is their best choice. Good can resemble pub grub however. Decor is a little dated too

Really really friendly staff, who went out their way to make our visit the best. Their own brewed beer was lovely too. Loved the atmosphere. Went when there were 2 gents playing jazz music - really pleasant! It was really quiet customer wise when we went - but then it was the middle of winter so I guess to be... More

Came here for a late lunch on Saturday. My partner and his friend visited Bruges last year and were looking forward to having some more Belgian beer. There was a good variety of beers so they were able to relive the Belgian experience. We had fish cake, USA burger, and the house mussels between us. The fish cake was very... More
