We went to Eastbourne for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon hoping to find a tea room and were lucky enough to stumble upon this gem! We were spoilt for choice when it came to the cakes which all looked extremely tempting. We had a slice of raspberry, lemon and coconut cake and a sticky ginger cake and... More

Called in with my cousins wife on her recommendation, had the New York bagels and a pot of tea. The food was very tasty and flavoursome, the tea was lovely too. Coleslaw obviously home made, all excellent, pot of tea a generous size and lovely flavour too. The tea room was so pretty, with a picture of the owners, 4... More

Went here for their New York bagels which are toasted bagel, packed full of pastrami, gherkins and mustard mayo - just perfect! Comes with crisps, home made coleslaw and a lovely seasoned salad on the side. Everything here, from coffee to cake, tea to lunches - all beautifully presented.....and served by a great team of girls who are always laughing... More

I am a dessert person and I love making my own desserts, so I' always very picky and strict with desserts offered in most places which are ready-bought and frozen. This place has nothing to do with that...their desserts are just amazing. I think after discovering them I'll gain a few pounds ;)

Great place, with wonderful scones, fresh raspberry jam and clotted cream, and I got the luxury hot chocolate (instead of tea) which was exactly that. The rest of the cakes also looked very appealing, but that one cream tea was a big enough breakfast for me. Warmly recommended!

We stopped here for a cake and tea and had a panini followed by a cream tea - the scones are amazeballs and best I have ever tasted!

Best cakes in Eastbourne home-made by Emma - we love it ! the new york bagel is delicious and there's always a new treat on the specials board. The sisters make it a nice place to be.

After a windy and fresh walk around the pier & seafront we stopped here for a well needed hot drink. The café is so pretty and homely decorated. Location is perfect! Hostess was really lovely. Our tea and cappuccino was perfect!

As Eastbourne residents we've tried a fair few cream teas and Neates wins hands down for the best scones we've had. After a recent trip to Devon we went straight to Neates the weekend we got back as nothing in Devon measured up! Great hospitality and homely feeling, always feel very welcome.
