Fabulous homemade jam, delicious scones and cream, and an extremely well presented cream tea! We would have eaten in here every day if we'd had enough room in our tummies! Simply divine!

Went here basically to check it out for another family member, no scones left, cake was dry. We are local and never been before and will not be going back. The excuse they used was it was market day, well then make more scones then to accommodate people visiting in the afternoon.

It had been a couple of years since we discovered this gem so on our return to Eastbourne last week we made a beeline for Neates to enjoy some more lovely cake. A great selection available, very friendly and thoroughly as enjoyable as we remembered it to be . Wish we lived nearer!

We were spoilt for choice when it came to the cakes which all looked extremely tempting. We had a slice of raspberry, lemon and coconut cake and a sticky ginger cake and... More

Called in with my cousins wife on her recommendation, had the New York bagels and a pot of tea. The food was very tasty and flavoursome, the tea was lovely too. Coleslaw obviously home made, all excellent, pot of tea a generous size and lovely flavour too. The tea room was so pretty, with a picture of the owners, 4... More

Went here for their New York bagels which are toasted bagel, packed full of pastrami, gherkins and mustard mayo - just perfect! Comes with crisps, home made coleslaw and a lovely seasoned salad on the side. Everything here, from coffee to cake, tea to lunches - all beautifully presented.....and served by a great team of girls who are always laughing... More
