popped by for a quick after training beer.
a nice shaded outdoor seating on a pedestrianised street allowed me to sit and watch the world go by.
after a beer a quick wander around the block im search of a restaurant brought me back to the happy elefante for dinner
i am not usually one to pick ribs from a menu, as more often than not i end up disappointed either by tenderness or by lack of meat. this restaurant did not disappoint on either and with fries and side included the price was very fair.
with interesting sounding burgers on the menu and a few nights left in town i may well be back!

This is right near the main waterfront in Alesund.
We stopped for a relatively early dinner after exploring the town
This an American themed bar- the huge flag bar is a giveaway
It was pretty busy, but we were able to be seated immediately on a Saturday evening
The menu is not very large, mostly burgers and pub fare.
We had a fish sandwich and a pretty good hamburger.
The fish was a bit overcooked for my taste
The fries were great- so few places can make great fries
They had a good beer selection
It was a bit pricey per US standards- $75 for beer, wine, 2 burgers

Here you get a proper burger in Ålesund. Good burger meat with premium bread. Good and crispy sweet potato fries.
Chili cheese bites can be avoided, they taste like McDonald's.
A potential for improvement is pickles. It said in the menu that there should be whole pickles on the side, but what I got was sliced pickles inside the burger. I'm not a fan of that.

We were six friends who wanted to Get some food after a long day. We saw this resturant on Google and it looked really Nice. After meeting the straff (who where very silent and didn’t help Much) we ordered. we ordered Three tikka masala burgers, One pulled pork and One spicy burger. After a long time we finally got our food. First of all the portions were SO SMALL, compered to the expensive price
But it looked good so i was excited to try. When we started eating all of us noticed that the burgers were completely cold. It wasn’t WARM AT ALL. But all of us was starved out so we are it anyways (because we didn’t want to wait for new food) One of my friends got their order wrong aswell, and the tikka masala burger didn’t have enough mest at all. I payed 167 kr and got about three chicken bites on my burger.
To sum up i was very dissapointed and i will never come here again and i will never reccomand tgis place ever.

Family of 2 kids and 2 adults. Ordered spicy hot wings for appertizer. Not spicy and extremely dry. The kids burger was tasty, the same with the chicken burger. The bbq ribs were overcooked and had no texture and were tasteless. But by adding bbq served with the ribs they were ok overall.
Disapointed with the softdrinks. Ordered a coke, a fanta and a Sprite. The coke and fanta came in glasses filled with ice. Would guess about 15 cl of liquid, but sprite came in bottle 30 cl. Price: 50,-. When we conplained to the waiter, she said it was a new practice at the restaurant with cola and fanta. After tasting it, i have a suspicion they are pouring it from 1,5 liter plastic bottles and not a glass bottle that was pictured on the menu..
Poor service and you had to tip in advance before putting in orders….

The food was nasty, my wife had fish and chips, the fish looked like the fish you get from a box of Findus, it tasted the same too, a real shame since Ålesund is a fishing port with dozens of trawler's based there, the availability of fresh fish shouldn't be a problem. I had a chicken burger, the chicken wasn't a fillet it was some kind of processed mystery meat in the shape of a chicken fillet. I won't even mention the kids meals, they weren't good, my kids didn't eat them. The soft drinks were by Norwegian standards expensive, for the price I would have expected 500ml not the 250ml serving with excessive ice we received.
The food was cheap so I shouldn't have expected much, I thought it could have been an alternative to Egon, it wasn't, as a family restaurant it leaves a lot to be desired.
They did have friendly staff, they should all do themselves a favour and find a better restaurant to work in.

Thanks for verry good food and service. I ate vegan burger and my friends pulled pork burger(amazing bbq sauce) and blue cheese burger. Big portions, nice, American style atmosphere, rock music, game room, friendly staff. Big choice of beer and cocktails. Cool place to go with friends or alone👌

Unfortunately absolutely terrible food. The chicken for NOK 295 was incredibly dry and tasteless. Actually, it's quite a crisis to serve something like that. Philly steak sandwich tasted like tomato paste and otherwise tasteless. A fast food restaurant is actually much better. Inexperienced waiters don't help either. All in all a very poor and expensive experience.

Cool premises and concept! We have been there several times with friends, and we probably won't be going there again now. The food has gotten worse, more expensive and less every time we've been there, so now we're not going to give them more chances. Seems like they are trying to save more money instead of maintaining the good concept they started with! I'm sure their alcohol is watered down, we had many drinks each and didn't even get so much as a breeze.
So if you don't want to be cheated, STAY AWAY!

Fun place with cheerful and good staff. Unfortunately, the vegan burger was not good, it was dry and tasteless and I barely ate half of it. Also, there were only 2 options on the menu that were for non-meat eaters; this vegan burger and salmon...
My boyfriend's burger was apparently quite good. The drinks (caipirinha, cosmopolitan) were made incorrectly, so you also have potential for improvement there. Overall a disappointing visit.

It was a good atmosphere and pleasant service✨

Cool place but crappy food. Ordered pita bread with beef which was a novelty on the menu. This one was a disappointment. Expect beef to be properly marinated and seasoned but was tasteless. Little to write home about. Bought some chili cheese nuggets. They were good.

The food was okay. Had a spare ribs. Good meat, but a little overpriced. My boyfriend had a burger. Was Ok. The stoff did not pay attention. Waited until we got to pay to ask for a glass of water. Was expexting more from the restaurant itself and the atmosphere, so in total we give the restaurant 3 of 5 stars.

Nice waitress who served us. We only got an aperol and a juice because I'm taking medication and I can't drink alcohol. In front of the bar, he wrote that the better the tip, the better it will be. Unacceptable. We left 10%, but obviously they didn't like it because they didn't even say hi when we left, although they saw us.

I ordered Fish & Chips. I have tried the really bad ones earlier, but this one took the cake. It is impossible to explain how bad it was. The chips/french fries were good and the waiters topp. The fish and its breading, Carton is juicy compared!
And the "slogan" that is meeting you in the bar..."The more you tip, the nicer we are" ! ?
