We often come out to Glesvær from Bergen and enjoy both the food and the interior of the cafe which is full of old shop objects and reminiscent of the merchants who once lived here. And of course the landscape around the place is lovely....When the weather permits we generally eat outside, looking at the sea and the boats. A favourite meal nowadays is the fish and chips plate - very good and fresh fish, and the salad and chips just right. However, the bouillabaisse is very good also. The staff is always pleasant.More

We had a nice little tour in Glesvær. Charming little place. The coffee / restaurant is great. Not the best coffee in the world but the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Worth the trip.

We came for the lunch with my wife. The owner was really kind, he spoke French with us and explained us all the meals. We ordered a fresh and homemade Fish & Chips and a typical soup with meat, sausage and vegetables. It was delicious,...we finished all the plates! For the deserts, we've taken a carrot cake and an apple cake, both homemade and fresh. We loved it, specially with the vanilla ice cream (you can even choose whipped cream instead if you want). You can help yourself for the coffee and the tea. The restaurant is not just a restaurant: you can buy sweets, drinks, fishing accessories and admire the decoration (ceiling, painting, old boxes, flowers etc.). Located at the end of the road, you will have a beautiful view on the sea. Sometimes, you will have the chance to listen to live music.More

I have come here before with guests from overseas and have had good food with good service. Especially good when the Swedish chef was serving. This time I took a Finnish guest. We both ordered fish soup as main course. The flavour was a good...base but I counted 2 small pieces of fish, 4 very small overcooked prawns and 3 slices of carrot. My guest said the same. It definitely was not worth the price. The place needs a welcoming person. Sadly the Swedish chef is gone. Also needs a dessert menu and prices on items for sale. Slack. I hopeMore

We regret that you were not satisfied with your visit and the fish soup. Not happy guests are not good. We try to have both an ok menu, pleasant staff and good service. At times we can be thinly staffed and it can and go...More

Hi all, I will just echo a recent review to say the history shared, a couple of fun sing alongside, and hot tea and pancake + jam + cream were a welcome respite on a rainy day. Visited as part of a tour.

We visited on August 21, 2018 with a tour group and the owner/manager Jon Steinar made us fresh pancakes with cream & strawberries, while leading us in singing some Norwegian songs. The colors of the various fishing village wooden buildings North Sea waters as we...were blessed with sunshine and a mild breeze. Well worth the scenic drive. Also enjoyed the Televag museum including the overlook of the fishing village destroyed by the Gestapo [now totally restored and active].More

We dropped by this cafe after driving around the outskirts of Bergen. When we entered we saw that it was also a gift shop selling a variety of interesting tin boxes, mugs & knick knacks. The service was excellent. As we were a large group...they voluntarily arranged the tables for us to accommodate all of us and explained the menu and the ingredients. We enjoyed the cakes & pies with ice cream and sampled their soup dishes. All good. The proprietor advised us to take a walk round to the back of the cafe to enjoy the views and took a picture of our group to share with the seminar that he was attending that day. The topic was TOURISM!! As you sit outside just enjoying the majestic scenery and silence with the sound of waves on the shore, you feel totally at peace with the world. Well worth a visit.More
