We read the glowing reviews and went to Cornelius. One takes a boat from Bergen to a small island (about half an hour). We had the five course tasting menu, without wine. With three glasses of wine and coffee the bill came to about $320. There were two starters, a crab dish ( no extra charge for the small piece... More

Exquisite seafood served with unusual dedication to freshness and purity of taste. And the location, unique.

We visited on a rainy day. If the sun is shining (very seldom in these parts), you might be cooked in the restaurant behind glass in most directions. We were a party of 17, and 6 of us had to wait approximately 40 minutes for the main course after the other part of the party were served. They had even... More

In line with various other reviewers, this restaurant did not live up to our expectation. Sure, the fish dishes were all cooked to perfection, but also rather simple and lacking the wow factor. In our 5 course meal only the first and best course featured shellfish, a small portion of crab meat. But when you shell out serious money (our... More

The best way to come to the restaurant is with the boat that collects you from Bergen and takes you to Cornelius' pier on the island of Bjorøy. It is a great way to start off the evening. The food is wonderful, but it is best if you are a fish and seafood lover. The staff are friendly, with a... More

My wife and I were in Bergen on honeymoon and wanted somewhere for a meal out as a special treat. We really enjoyed this place! It's on an island in the fjord, so the boat trip adds to the anticipation. On arrival the staff are friendly and helpful, and the chefs come out and talk you through each dish as... More

We had a very pleasant experience here. The food was excellent and the staff very professional and well trained. We had the five course meteorology meal and there was no talk by the owner. After reading previous reviews that was fine. The staff introduced themselves by title and explained the menu. We did the wine pairing and I felt that... More

We paid 1700.-NOK per person (180.- Euro/Person) for a 5-course-menue with a glas of wine to every course and a glas of Prosecco. We think, we paid to much as what we get for... The boat Ride was short (20 minutes) with a old catamaran.

This restaurant was delightful! On an island only reached by boat. Delicious seafood & excellent wines. Everything caught fresh & cooked to perfection!

We visited this restaurant on Saturday night, my partner booked the table in advance though was lucky to get a table as this place was busy. I was inspired by the idea to go to the restaurant by boat! We have been met by a great member of the team Michael who was absolutely perfect during all evening with a... More

Just outside the City of Bergen, you will find one of the most exotic attractions in the whole of Western Norway's archipelago. Cornelius is one of Norway's best seafood restaurants. It is situated right by the sea on a small island with spectacular views of the fjord, mountains, skerries and passing boats and ships. Inspired by the weather of the day, Cornelius serves its famous Meteorological Menu of exquisite seafood and trimmings, prepared using innovative culinary techniques and with a genuine passion for seafood. Cornelius is open all year. On beautiful summer days, we open the sliding doors and set up tables on the pier, where we serve lighter dishes. When the weather is less favourable, we create a cosy atmosphere indoors and serve food with stronger flavours and light up the candles and the fireplace. Every season - every day - we offer unique and exciting culinary experiences on Holmen. Experience a beautiful trip among the skerries, from Bryggen wharf in the City of Bergen to Holmen at Bjoroy. Regular departures at 18.00 from Dreggekaien on Bryggen (shed no. 8) opposite Radisson Blu Royal Hotel and Clarion Collection Hotel Havnekontoret. Return from Holmen at 22.30. The boat trip takes 25 minutes. Warm, safe boats take you back and forth in comfort, - regardless of the weather. Please contact us if you want to charter a private boat. During the summer months we have regular departures for lunch Thursday, Friday and Saturdays.
