We went to this restaurant thinking it might be Viking themed and rather touristy. Not one bit! The food equates to fine dining but at reasonable price (ok, for Norway) using fresh local produce. The service was excellent. As Troll is beside the Central Station...More

Had one of the most special and pleasant dining experiences at the Troll! The restaurant is exquisitely cozy, with knowledgable and hospitable owner (who also has a mad moustache 😛) and amazing choice of dishes which are paired with non-trivial wines. highly recommended!

I enjoyed a great meal featuring fresh local Norwegian products. I started with the Reindeer bone marrow that was amazing and then had the cod fish which came with some mashed carrot & potatoes as well as vegetables and a wine sauce. It was cooked...More

We had a lovely time here! The atmosphere and location are wonderful, right by the water. We were served by the lovely waiters who gave us a little information about each dish as it was served. Furthermore, they offered vegetarian dishes, which my partner enjoyed!...More

Both of plates were very salty, especially mine (ratatouille with fried cheese). In addition the waiter did not see our disapointed behaviour. That is too bad because according to me, the course could tasted better without that big amount of salt.

Visited in the holidays season. High end traditional Norwegian cuisine; with lutefisk and pinnekjøtt on the menu. Very well presented. Tasty and perfectly cooked. Knowledgeable, observant and serviceminded staff through out.. Do try their own Aquavit brand, also called Troll. Will visit again.
