Normally just available in the Netherlands but also on a quai square in Trondheim. A lot of variety in dips, delicious😋

I think an import part of running a successful business is friendliness and rapport with customers. Simen's (he pronounces it SIGH mun for obvious reasons) Isbar is a prime example of this. The ice cream, desserts, and cafe drinks are good and high quality, sure,...but it is the owner/operator, Simen, that makes it a special place you should go out of your way to visit. His pleasant banter while he prepares your order elevates the simple act of buying an ice cream cone from a vendor a better than ordinary experience while touring Trondheim. Sprinkles, sauces, dips and fruit are some of the great options. I personally recommend the fully loaded Belgian waffle plate! 65 nok? Unfortunately for me, he has a location just in front of my gym, and it is really hard to bypass on a sunny day by the waterfront. To just sit, relax, take in the sun and harbour views while enjoying gourmet ice cream. So, I recommend treating yourself to this experience and having this sweet memory of Trondheim.More
I was so happy when I found this ice cream gem! I wanted a non dairy milkshake, which was hard to find. But they made me a wonderful soy milkshake with Oreo and I loved it. I ended up buying it at both the places...they have in Trondheim. Unfortunately it was so warm (32 degrees C) and that made the ice cream melt for them. Except my soy, since they had that in the back. Would definitely recommend these two ice cream bars. And the staff was super sweet. 5 Stars from me!More
Only tried the vegan milkshake - it was a bit watery and weird. It seemed rather popular though and with a good range of things on offer. The presentation was so-so, a bit messy and tired-looking.More

First I walked past this place and just thought: "Ice cream in Trondheim in March during a cold and rainy day? That's a bit crazy!" But after a few steps I turned because maybe I just felt like having ice cream is the right thing...for me now after walking much. I was there in the afternoon and I was the 9th customer that day. I had green tea and pistachio, if I remember right... Both were good! Maybe the circumstance that I was eating ice cream in that cold and rainy weather made it better because I just did what I wanted! Still it is good ice cream and the owner is a very nice and sympathetic man! And for Norway it was a good price! If I make it to Trondheim again, I will definitely come back!More
Thank you for taking the time to give us a review here on TripAdvisor. This is important to us. You are quite right, starting with an ice cream parlor in Trondheim, can sometimes cause some challenges, but it's also fun and makes me feel comfortable...More
After reading good reviews on FB and other media, we decided to visit the place in order to have an opinion of our own. So we tasted 4 different scoops of their ice cream, but we weren't impressed at all. The quality is poor/mediocre. F.ex....the pistaccio flavour didn't taste like the real thing. The colour looked artificial and it also tasted like that. The consistance of all 4 flavours we tasted was hard and not as smooth as ice cream from an ice cream bar should be like. You can get the same ice cream in a regular supermarket, in a 2 lt box for the same price paid for 2 scoops almost. I don't expect every ice cream bar to make their own ice cream, but for that price, I expect more than the usual standarized supermarket icecream. They need to change a lot in order to meet the standards of a descent european ice cream bar/gelateria.More

I've visited both the cozy place in T.Angells street and one of the booths... The service is always excellent, and you feel truly welcome as a customer. The menu is good and not overwhelming, with lots of delicious treats. I've tasted their "luxury" milkshake, their...home made brownie ice cake and just regular ice cream. It's pure heavenly calories. Go there to treat yourself and enjoy!More

Most fabulous ice-cream store in town! Great service, and those waffles with ice-cream..wow! Go for it!
Have you seen the face of a nine year old girl when she discovers that her hot cocoa comes with a large scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream? Or when she bites into a thick sweet belgian waffle? This is the kind of innocent pure...joy I am looking for when I take my kids out during the weekend. And this is the experience we have at Simen´s Ice cream parlor. And when the kids have stocked up on sugary treats, they can run around playing in and on local art, designed to challenge them physically. And I can enjoy my coffee, wrapped in a blanket, listening to soft music from the 50s and 60s, watching over the kids while they play. Add the smell from the ocean, a few feet away, and the recipe for replenishing a mother´s mind is complete.More

After all the good reviews here we went there to see if the hype about it is worth it. Unfortunately we didn't meet a happy ice cream seller but a young lady in bad mood. The ice cram they sell is nothing special from other...places rather ordinary but the colors of the ice cream shag cause a good mood. The ice cream bar is quite expensive.More
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback! I can desveree not always be there, but we do our best! If it fits the / you - welcome back and then maybe we can meet! :) #Ismannen / Simen
The ice cream bar is easy to see as you cross the pedestrian bridge from the train station, perfect place to stop before getting on the boat. The owner is super friendly and the ice cream is delicious! Most definitely coming back!

Lovely to take a walk around town when it's sunny (1day a year 😄) and end up at Simens Isbar to sit for a while in the sun and have some yummy icecream! Very friendly man served us (I presume was Simen)... Definitely in a...great location riht beside where the boat goes to Munkholmen! :)More

THIS guy, simen is most likely the most cheerful guy in Trondheim! No matter how gloomy the somewhat unpredictable weather in Trondheim is this guy and all his employees always brighten up your day with a big smile and tasty ice cream, shakes and belgian...waffles. I highly recomend their special with waffles, soft ice and strawberry jam!More

We visided Brattøra on our Harleys, and there are a lot of places to park the bikes there. I couldn't decide what to buy, because it was very much to choose between. But the girls in the shop was very helpful, smiling all the time....The place looked very clean, and there was enough places to sit, either on the benches outside the shop, or nearby. We bought two different icecreams, a french waffle and a milkshake. And it all tasted very very good ❤️ We have to come back soon, to buy other icecreams. Tumbs up for a exelent place 👍🏼😃 We love it!More

This review is for the location at Brattøra promenade, since I haven't been to the Ravnkloa one, but I assume it is equally good.. Simen's ice cream is delicious! We walk our dog down along the fjord practically every day, and it takes all my...strength not to get ice cream there every single time we walk by. My favourite ice cream flavours are the banana/chocolate, peanut/caramel, and the lemon pie. Honourable mention; the mango sorbet. I've only had the Belgian style waffles without any topping, and they were still super tasty. Thank you for opening this place! Perfect location right across the train station bridge, down by the fjord. I should also mention that every time I've been there, the service was excellent, and super friendly staff. PS! They have coffee for kr.10,- before 10 o'clock.More
