I tried to take pictures of every course and the corresponding wine but I gave up after a while and surrendered to the culinary joy.
Robert, our main server, was the BEST - took the time to explain every grape and vineyard our wines came...from in loving detail and every single aspect of every dish. But is wasn't just Robert. Stephan also welcomed us and gave us our intro drink (a green drink with cucumber juice from a local Norwegian gin), plus Adne from the kitchen prepared every dish with incredible attention to detail. I've eaten at all the fine restaurants in NYC and this meal was far more unique from the oat bread made from extra beer from local distilleries to the local mushrooms, halibut, light dessert, on point wine pairings... I could go on but the 10 course meal was light enough I did not feel over stuffed. not sure I could have done the 20 course meal but the 10 was light enough for both of us
The wines were incredible- only one red (I'd recommend 2-3 reds) and a few sparking/whites but overall, some great Norwegian treats (dessert wine plus cider) plus some memorable French an Portuguese wines.
Though our total was close to 600 for 2, totally worth it and one of the best meals of all time with caring and knowledge servers. Thanks to Roger, Stephan and Anne.More
