About

At Teatro, we base the menu on the Italian pizza, without being bound to the traditional. We strive to find exciting toppings and original flavor combinations. Our red pizzas are made with tomatoes from Italy, and seasoned to find the right taste balance. The white pizzas are made with a creme fraiche base, we add garlic, wine and herbs. We have the second largest wine cellar in Oslo. Our head sommelier will find the perfect match between our gourmet pizzas and selection of 50 wines by the glass, plus an extensive wine list. Restaurant Teatro is located at Hotel Christiania Teater in Stortingsgata 16, downtown Oslo, right next to Oslo City Hall. The nearest subway is Nationaltheatret and the tram stops only 300 meter away.

Good pizzas which is to be expected and nice setting. However… We were told that we could pay a set price to be supplied with various pizza’s until we couldn’t eat any more…. The pizza’s were served 4 at a time for a group of 13 and the gaps between pizza’s were long this meant that overall we only got slightly more than a pizza each but also paid more than a pizza each before we ran out of time for the table. If you are aware of this before you go then you will likely enjoy it more but I was very disappointed at the pace of the service and that I could have ate more pizza but we had ran out of time when we had not taken long to eat each pizza they brought out. Staff were friendly enough but had to negotiate to get more than one pizza each despite paying more.

New way to enjoy pizza

Went here after a business meeting and had a 'tasting menu'. And we were able to taste pizzas with toppings I've never tried (or thought about) before. Amazing new tastes. Never thought about having halibut on pizza - but wow!

Great for salad

We stopped in for lunch on a Monday and it wasn’t too busy. They have a nice covered terrace so we could sit outside to enjoy our meal. We ordered the chèvre salad and a margarita pizza to share. The service was a little slow but the delicious salad, a medley of lettuce with a large hunk of grilled goat cheese, a light dressing and pine nuts was fantastic and I’d highly recommend that item along with the savory focaccia with its salty goodness that was served with the salad. The pizza was fine but pretty ordinary. Interesting the few other diners (locals) all had salads.

Great location and atmosphere. The pizza meny is short and limited but offers a range of both white and red pizzas. If you are vegan, they have a few white and one red pizza option. If you are vegetarian, there are no red pizzas available. If you wish to order a Margherita (the most traditional of all pizzas since the dawn of day), that is unfortunately not an available alternative. There is a children sized version, which unfortunately isnt possible for the restaurant to provide in a full adult size 🤷🏻‍♂️. Life hack: You can order a Parma pizza without parma ham, red onions, parmesan cheese, red onion and rocket sallad (but obviously priced to the original Parma pizza) in the event you wish to have a Margherita here.

Really mixed bag

A pizza place - to be crying out loud! When you go out, you want a good experience and you want to be treated well. The pizzas might be good. That’s we we went here. However, we did not even get inside, despite having made a reservation on their company website. The doorman kept on misspelling my name and could not find me on his ipad: «if you are not on my list, there is nothing I can do»… I wish they could employ people at the door with skills - somebody who could read, write and listen…

Good pizza

Went to this place since I was eligible for free pizza and sorbet. Both were really good. I had the spicy and pork pizza and salty caramel sorbet. While my pizza was tasty and made properly. Unfortunately, I noticed some other customers' pizzas did not "look so good". Could be a hit or miss but since it was free for me, I was willing to take my chances.

Kooky and eclectic

Cute bar in the entrance of Christiania theater. Very kooky and eclectic interior, but not many option for non alcoholic beverages. We did not try the food but enjoyed waiting for our comedy show for an hour. Apparently they tell you the doors open 45 minutes before they do and cash in on drinks while you wait.

Possibly the best pizza in Oslo

This is a pizza-only kind of restaurant. It offers creative and original never-heard-of-before variations of toppings (like chickpeas, avocado & spinach or chicken, mango & coconut - just to name two!) Pizza portions are generous and you will most likely leave this place feeling very content.

Amazing pizza in a very nice place

I can tell that the pizza is one of the best I had in Oslo and the place is quite busy most of the days and should be good if you book a table in advance. The service is not that level yet, but the pizza makes it worth.

Great atmosphere but expensive pizza!

We sat on the mezzanine, which was nice for our party of four. Great location and great service. The pizza is probably the most expensive in town, but what isn’t in this city...!? Worth a visit!

Very good pizza and great atmosphere

I'm not a pizza place fan, but was convinced to give this place a try. We had 3 different pizzas and a plank dish with some nice and interesting tasts (nice as a starter for 2 to share). The food was very good, I had the "Phonix", which had a much fuller and complex taste than what you usually get from a pizza. Everyone eat their entire pizza, which is a "big" Italian version. Decently priced, an impressive wine list for a pizza place, a very welcoming waiter and lovely atmosphere. The waiter could've been more attentive as time went by, but all in all, a very enjoyable experience.
