Description: Mother India is Norway’s oldest Indian restaurant. Run by the Sharma family...
Mother India is Norway’s oldest Indian restaurant. Run by the Sharma family the restaurant opened its door in 1993, and has been with the same family in the same location ever since. We are proud of this, but also humble to our guests' expectations of us.We regard ourselves as cultural ambassadors of India through the food we serve. Hence, as our guest you are not a customer but part of our family. We constantly source our ingredients from different suppliers, searching for the very best. That is why we also blend our own spice mixtures. This gives our food a unique flavor, and the recipes are a well kept secret.

Very good Indian food and book ahead!

I usually don't give 5 stars, but 4 felt too little so 5 it is. We were lucky, got there without a reservation. They had a table for us for almost 2 hours, wich was more than we needed. We got some kind of appetizer wich they serve at most Indian restaurants, this very thin and crisp bread... read more

Extremely happy with the food. Taste, aroma, ambience is very much Indian, even if you are not much into spicy food, the mild option can definitely win your heart. Price is slightly expensive than other Indian restaurants of Oslo, still worth a visit.

Having tried seveal Indian restaurants over the last 10 years in Norway, I think it's safe to confirm that this is the best Indian food in the country. I chose Mother India for a celebratory dinner with 21 friends, and had a amazing evening with great food. Mango lassi is a must, and palak paneer is the best for all... More

Been here several times, and every time they impress. Service is excellent, can't possibly be better. Food is simply amazing, real authentic flavor and perfectly grilled tandoori meat. Naan is beautiful, and so are all the condiments. Great atmosphere, cosy, and the price is exactly right.
