Crazy to meet top french cuizine in Oslo, but that is what I met, (who but a french would serve white meat with hollandaise, oranges, white asparagus and capers and anchovies) and even be seated outside, but it was full inside on this summer tuesday.
The winelist is amazing. Wish Colin would get himself an Enomatic winedispenser and rotate some of his spectacular bottles so we could have a and afford a single glass.

Blue gem just outside Oslo centre with the best creamy seafood soup i have ever had, and I have had a lot. Worth the walk from the centre alone. So flavorsome and tasty, not salty as they often are, nor too thin or thick with nice garniture. Highly recommend and compliments to the chef. The other courses was also very nice, ad service was good. A bit pricy but really worth looking for this blue house with relaxed atmosphere. Sat outside on the small porche, and enjoyed that there was no music! Deffinetly coming back. Stay away from the bar code when you can get this real french bistro feel!

I came as part of a large group. The ambiance was excellent and the food was excellent, everything that you'd expect from a high-quality French bistro. It's not high-end dining, but it ticks all of the boxes for quality and authentic French cuisine. The service was also excellent. A cozy and friendly little restaurant on a beautiful and quiet little street - very nice neighborhood.

On our anniversary we had been looking forward to finally try this restaurant and booked long ahead. We have tried most French cuisine restaurants in Oslo and heard good things about this one. The menu is limited, a bit on $$ side, but offer seasonal, delicious dishes with good size portions. The only problem was the service. It was very slow and inconsistent, we never got any bread (like all other guests), we had 3 different waiters, where only one was friendly and helpful. Not sure we felt welcome enough to come back.

Cozy place, have been here a few times and good food, pleasant service, good atmosphere. Are used to that stuff costs, but kr 585 for an entrecote with some asparagus on top and dried pommes frites!? Ended at over $1,500 for a kid and me, only main course and apple must. First time I ever complained about the price at a restaurant. The quality does not defend this price level. Le Benjamin, for example, holds higher quality overall and is much more affordable. Pleased with the visit but also felt that the pockets were distorted.

Some friends and I visited met there last month. I ordred a chevre/salad; too much dressing. For main Bouillbaisse; which was joike. For dessert chocolate mousse; too fat and heavy. Prices too high. Too crowded and too noisy!

Nice start where I got a really good turbot. Very good taste. I got a good glass of Bourgogne. My daughter got a steak. A little small, but good taste. Side dish béarnaise was good, but think we got the last of the bag but french fries. They were small and half.
Dessert lemon tart was completely inedible. It was almost frozen in the middle but the tart dough had a bad taste, like it was baked several weeks ago. When I told about the experiences it was a comment - sorry, you want a bill now ☹️

Family of 4 had a lovely dining experience, porsished eggs with the world's best cloud, silky soft trout and the most mule lamb we've ever eaten, we enjoy every bit.
Finished with tarte tartin with velvety ice cream with crème fraiche and ripe French cheese.
Drink delicious white and red wines, the wine chart is fantastic, something for every taste and wallet. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, full house and warm atmosphere.
We'll be back soon.

The expectation was great, for this is a restaurant in the higher price class.
Service? Brilliant. Nice reception, and as pleasant throughout the evening.
Food? Not so brilliant.
I had read many good words about: tartar. That it should be among the best in town. And I simply love tartar. Yeah, it was good, but chopped for salt. But I calmed it with the good bread that was placed on the table.
So the main dish. I thought that for almost NOK 600 the entrecõte should be perfect, so I went for it. But when almost half of it turns out to be impossible to chew through to get swallowed, and you have to leave so much on the plate, and say that this was not good, then you expect something other than the comment: "You could have told me, then you could have gotten a new one." Well, man is well raised, so I tried the best I could to get through the piece I got served. I obviously shouldn't have done that.
One thing the cook should have: it was perfectly fried, and the bits I came through were good.
I did not expect a slime-free filet, just as it is said. I expected a good entrecôte, which I ate many of in my life.
And I was expecting some compensation. Maybe a half cup of coffee or something?
But no. Full bill. And zero regrets.
The venue? Very good. And we came early. It was lucky for us. Because when the room is filled up, the acoustics are really awful.
So we escaped. And for me? Never there again.

Most good restaurants are close on Sunday and Monday in Oslo. I'm so glad Chez Colin is open. It was a very welcome and pleasant encounter with Hilda. She should conduct a course for every resto in Norway - to smile and have a great humor! We wanted some interesting wine by the glass, she recommended Mercurey 2020 - so good! The starter Asparagas my husband said is the best he had so far! Our main course fish are both done to perfection. This is a superb restaurant that should be highly rated. 2 toilets - clean and spacious enough. If ever I come back to Oslo, I'll be here again.

Delicious food. Skeptical about duck, but it was lovely. I eat like a child so we got to share a dish. Me and my wife. What I am used to is that the dish arrives and I share the food with my wife. At this restaurant, they served us each on a separate plate! Thank you very much for your understanding! We will definitely come again 😀😋

French style restaurant in a classic Oslo wooden house. Great service. Complete wine list with great wines. Menu is limited, but food is great! Today’s fish and meat is recommended.

We went for a late lunch here once things opened up, but still could not travel to France itself.
Absolutely a wonderful homage to the French bistro. We loved it!
It's expensive for oslo, the tables and chairs are cheap looking, but it's lovely! Highly recommended.

Went here for our wedding anniversary. Have heard very much good things about it, so our expectations where very high.
Even though I would say that both the tartar and the steak was very good, it did not live up to our expectations.
Very efficient service and food came out fast.

Chez Colin has a really good reputation in Oslo. They really deserve it. We had a wonderful evening with the best service, great laidback atmosphere, spectacular food and a fantastic selection of wine. Don’t think twice - just visit and enjoy original French cuisine.
