We were encouraged when we walked past in the middle of the day and it looked great, although less than half full. After waiting around someone came to ask us what we wanted and we booked for that night. Arriving at the designated time, still half empty, waited at least five minutes for someone to acknowledge us and then sat... More

The location of this restaurant is perfect, lovely view of the Parliament and the main square facing the theatre, fairy-tale atmosphere when dining at night. Good service, perfect if one likes scandinavian dishes and one is not too concerned with cholesterol. Not cheap, but elegant.

This is a great place, almost like a museum with the owner's private collection of old artefacts. We selected a three-course menu with an accompanying beer menu, which was a very nice choice. The food was excellent, but unfortunately they made a mistake and added bacon cubes when it was made clear that only seafood was acceptable.

The food is OK, and there are many alternatives. But you need to visit the place for it´s atmosphere. Book a table where "all the things" are! It´s a journey back in time. Recommended

Hello Jon Anders, thank you very much for your review. The place where "All the things" are is called "Landhandleriet" (general store) because it represents a old norwegian country side store between the years 1900-1960. Everything is collected by our private owner and every little detail is placed by himself. We see ourselves as the guardians og a little piece... More

During our stay in Oslo one of ladies had a birthday so we decided to go to Cafe Christiania for afternoon tea. Everything was wonderful. the staff were really friendly and had no problem seating a big group at short notice. The food was amazing and very well presented. Sitting with the back to the circular windows, the late autumn light envelops you in a comforting way. When we hit the table it was almost empty; giving us an huge space to dive into an mind-expanding dialogue.. The lamb salad was warm and tasty, and hot chocolate warming with the chilly wind outdoors. Attentive service from kind waiters, contributed... More

Cred for the interior. Super interesting for those of use who was around already many years ago. All those old advertising posters, effects etc etc. Most satisfying food with chicken and entrecote served for the two of us. If the waiter had been better in speaking Norwegian we had appreciated that. Absolute OK service for us - following up through... More

On a beautiful sunny day in September we opted to have lunch on the terrace of Café Christiana. It was fun to people-watch. There was plenty of time to do that as it took a long time for the waiter to come by, even to offer a menu. A nice Danish person at the table next to us - who... More

Tourist restaurant close to the parlament and the central square. Good for those spending the first day in Oslo, then is better to go elsewhere!. The restaurant is located into an ancient building formerly belonged to secret societies, so it is very fascinating to see, the furnitures are antique giving a misterious atmosphere to the place. Food is of average... More
